Operation Diablo v1.5
Operation Diablo has been installed on the Mod server. The Current Mods thread has been updated. The mod can be downloaded from FilePlanet and is a requirement to get on the Mod server. One mission has been taken out of rotation due to problems with clients getting disconnected on mission load. This is only affected by MP play and the mission will run fine in SP. The rest of the campaign should run smoothly. It's a small download so the wait times should be non-existant. If you have something against FilePlanet, I can post a link to the file hosted on my own webspace.

Does the mod have to be activated, or will it run server side?

server side works fine.
Activating really doesn't change much anyways.

Re: Operation Diablo v1.5
As a precaution, always activate mods that are in use on the server. However, it's not necessary to activate mods. For clarification, mods are never server-side only. They always require that the client have the mod. The exception is missions that do not require elements from a mod not present on the server, commonly known as server-sided missions.

Re: Operation Diablo v1.5
I played a few of the Diablo missions with phyllis and HSantal' last night, and liked what I saw. The first mission does not have a briefing, or show the objectives, although the mission itself seems to run smoothly. That was the only issue I saw.
The kits are nice (they have sensors, which I took out of nostalgia
)--I didn't notice any "super weaps". In fact, some of the high-caliber assault weapons' reticules take a long time to settle down, and aren't all that accurate at distance, which is nice in that it makes you work a little harder, and pick your engagements more carefully.
From what I saw the mod is worth the d/l.

Re: Operation Diablo v1.5
If you read the file entitled "Read Me.rtf" that came with Operation Diablo Version 1.5 it says this in it:
"The firearms [cartels use] have been modified and made less accurate since cartel soldiers can't shoot as well as United States special forces. I would not use the VZ-58 rifle or Z-84 submachine gun anymore because the accuracy and zoom have been made quite poor."
I programmed the cartel soldiers to be bad shots since they have poor firearm training. It's a nice break from the super accuracy the enemy soldiers have in almost all other modifications I have played.

Re: Operation Diablo v1.5
Ok...Just downloaded this and played these missions on the mod server with an excellent TG team.
I, of course, got elected as leader at gunpoint...
Missions were extremely fun. There is no better feeling then inserting into a brand new mission.
Missions briefs were excellent, making planning very easy for the elected Team Leader.
The download is very small. I highly suggest that you grab this mod and join up on the mod server for some great missions...
My hat is off to you MilitiaMan.....
Great Job!
