TG 3.1 Teaser Release Date

Well, I've been recruiting and pushing the dev team on the 3.1 update. I haven't posted much about it because I honestly didn't know what was going into it or when it would come out. We're working hard to putting together a teaser to show you what will be in one of the last updates to our community mod.
List of Features
  • Weapon stats adjustments
  • Scriptable objects
  • Of course we need missions to show off those objects!
  • A couple new weapons and items
  • New weapon sounds
For those that have suffered using or avoiding the Mac10SD for so long, it has been boosted. The main problem was its 0% effectiveness on chest shots covered in heavy armor. It is now effective against heavy armor up to 50m. Other SMG type weapons are also effective against heavy armor but not more than 50m. Some scope magnifications have been increased (SVU, MP5's).

Scriptable objects include crates, a tower and other various goodies to spice up missions. The tower does allow scripters to place actors in them. I won't mention all the objects in the list for the teaser because some will really surprise you. Once you play the new missions, you'll be blown away at the cool improvements!

New weapons include the return of the M79 and the Walther P99. The M79 will replace the MM1 in some MOUT kits and be coupled with the MP5SD for a new combination. It will be employing timed grenades instead of exploding on impact. The P99 will be paired with the WA2000 for some Bond action. Along with the MP5 10mm's new stats will be a suppressed version. There will be a new Porta-Bush item for snipers. The final will have various bush types. This teaser will showcase the tall grass type that is found on most original GR maps.

Some weapon sounds have been replaced. They'll change again for the 3.1 final if you guys don't like them very much. The M60 will have a different sound from the one that came with Frostbite. The M16 will have a different sound as I found the original to sound nothing like it's real life counterpart. The same goes for the Aug as it's been using the M4 sound for too long.

For the final and subsequent updates, there will be much more of everything posted here. We're hoping to release some maps before GR2 comes out. We'll be focusing on CQB since the loss of the SOAF maps due to legal limitations. I also hope there will be more of us scripting missions. The main goal of 3.1 is to provide tools for the community to easily script cool missions using the same maps we've been playing on for nearly 3 years.

Stay tuned for the release next week!

Re: TG 3.1 Teaser Release Date

There's a change with the SVU. I've put the scope zoom back to the original of 10. It's also the SVU-A now, the A designates automatic fire (half the firing rate of most assualt rifles). It'll be somewhat useful in CQB situations, meaning until the 10-round mag runs out.

The 'demolitions' class is now the 'engineer' class. The demo charges have been renamed to 'Tool Kit'. This is a cosmetic change only. They still function as demo charges but it allows mission scripters to do objectives where specialists must be the one performing the action such as repairing a vehicle by using (placing) a tool kit (demo charge).

Re: TG 3.1 Teaser Release Date

Of course I did! To activate the invulnerability, I have to shoot you. You can also get another team member to shoot you. Or, you can drop a frag at your feet. All of these methods will make you impervious to enemy gunfire.

I'm packaging the teaser mod and doing some last minute testing. It'll be ready for release in a few days.

Can you guys add the Russian VSS-SD the 9.39mm silenced sniperrifle? Damn good sniperrifle specs are here->http://world.guns.ru/sniper/sn20-e.htm

love to have that one added as it's my favorite.

Re: TG 3.1 Teaser Release Date

The update has been in development for a while. It's a little late to ask for stuff.

TG 3.1 Teaser - 15Mb

Here's the release of the teaser mod. It's up on the Mod Server. Unzip it into your GR mods directory and activate it in game. It's a good idea to deactivate all other mods. Frostbite is not required for this. The grid overlays were not included to minimize the file size. You can copy the grids over from the TG 3.0 mod over to the 3.1 teaser or over the original overlays.

Re: TG 3.1 Teaser Release Date

It is good hear that things are shaping for the Ghost Recon part of TG. I was wondering if things were going to go the way side with so many cool games coming out on the market. Keep up the great guys.
