iPad?

I'm getting 1, and don't know crap all about it..

You know, part of me wants one but I don't have much a use for it as of yet. I'll wait for hardware revision 2 or 3, like I did with my iPhone, and then see.

If it could act as a TV remote as well, like the logitech harmony remotes, I'd get it just for that!

Undecided still.. My 1st post was stupid..

Didn't know this group actually functioned... I'll get one if it allows me to remotely control my iMac / stream content from it. Not sure why everyone says they don't know what it's for. I want the functionality of an ipod touch but on a bigger screen. That's what it is, and more.

I'm hoping to get this group functioning! It has the possibility to be very useful but at the moment there is still too much up in the air and I don't see it turning into the massive hit that the iPhone is/was. However, if I can turn it into a super remote control for my house...I'm so in.

Trouble is everything is infrared, and this will be bluetooth. To convert between the 2 costs money, and is clunky..

True, but everything is getting networked too. That is where everything is going I think. There is already a ton of network based controls for the iPhone. Like the stock Apple Remote for iTunes, which I do use from time to time and the VLC remote, which can be very nice as well. So, with your entire house networked, as long as the proper interfaces were provided you could control everything! I look forward to developing with that in mind.

I'm thinking more about my TVs/DVD player/Sound system/Sky box etc.. Actually you remind me of a very good point. VPN into work and remotely admining will be easy! Oh wait, that's not a good thing..
