Guys, this was as sloppy a night as I have ever seen us have. There were FAR too many mental mistakes. Initially we did a horrible job controlling the infernals, later we were terrible at being in the correct position BEFORE Blast Wave.

We had several attempts lost because people weren't where they were supposed to be ahead of time, ready for something to go wrong so they could react. At 15 seconds to blast wave, you should be in position next to the wall by your cube, waiting, at 5 seconds, you should move to stand next to your cube. This is not difficult guys, and frankly people not doing this is unacceptable. One person kills a raid in this situation, so your FIRST responsibility is not damage, or whatever else when you are assigned to a cube, it is the CUBE.

While we got him down, this was not a good night. I thank you all for sticking with it, but we have got to have better consistency from everyone if we are going to continue to progress. Everyone needs to come to the raid on their "A" game and ready to work for group success.

Guys, my expectation is that tonight, we down Maulgar and Gruul is 1 shots. You need to make that happen, that means come prepared, focused and ready to do what I know each and every one of you is capable of.

If you want progress, you have to make it happen by your own actions.

Let's make that happen.

I want to thank the tanks and healers for being so patient last night. This was all on the DPS/CC and cube clickers. We as a group cannot ever be as bad as that again. It was really a shameful performance.

While there were obviously problems, I would like to point out that There were some really good instances of Tank/Healer synergy. I was watching Talara on our last attempt... without any real discussion, the healers fell into a pattern, My heal would land then I'd see Luna's, then Happy's, then everybody else in a neat little line, ensuring that the stuffing was not removed from our beloved teddy bear tank.

Do you guys remember when all you needed to succeed in an instance was a handful of ridiculously great healers?

Man.. what was wrong with us back then.

Lastly, the HR training in me wants the cube clickers to know that *I* Know **** happens... I don't expect perfection from my fellow raiders.. I just expect you to try your best. I know that it can be done better, and I look forward to the day when it is done better. I don't think you guys are horrible players, I just think that **** happened.

So let's do our best to avoid that, and we'll get back on the path to solid Raid Pwnage.

I say we get things out of the way and just blame me for the problems of the night. Everything seemed to stem from me anyhow.

Problem 1)
Jest died early to a channeler so the backup was notified. Somehow the backup got the debuff even though I was channeling cube 8 on the first wave. Second wave comes around, both of us have the debuff, burning death ensues. Everyone blames me because I wasn't channeling during the 2nd wave even after channeling the first like I was assigned.

Problem 2)
Since the last two attempts were 'rather good' from the point of view that we had all 5 channelers down 15-20 seconds before blast wave I gave everyone a fun fact I was informed of during wipe recovery. Large fight breaks out over guild chat and everyone gets distracted. Next few attempts can kindly be described as 'piss poor' and 'god awful'.

Problem 3)
Standing by near the cube we get hit by a 1-2 punch of earthquake then blast wave 5 seconds later. I got bounced in a straight line away from the cube and through a conflag where upon I, not expecting an immediate blast wave, typed 'Conflagged' to let the healers know that "I'm taking 5k damage and if I don't get heals I'll die while channeling", reorientate my camera and detour around the fire and smoke to my cube. Upon which I arrive 3 seconds late (2nd tick just happened) and start channeling. I assume the combination of cube and blast wave damage killed all the other channelers because I saw only my beam after clicking and death quickly followed.

Problem 4)
Much cursing on this one. Running back to the cube 15 seconds before the timer ran out I ran around a conflag that was hiding a debrie fall in the smoke. Got clipped for 40k damage and died. While yelling obscenities I typed out "Dead on 8, need pick up!" twice at 12 seconds and at 8 seconds. No backup was assigned since I "gave no warning" and we quickly wiped.

Evidence that supports this view is as follows: I was demoted from cube clicking duty to backup and we dropped Mags on the second attempt.
