Remember that whole "raiding" thing?
Well, let's try to start doing that again, eh? The raids are posted for the upcoming week. Please go sign up! If you can't make it, please sign up as unavailable.

Re: Remember that whole "raiding" thing?
I remember that whole raiding thing and am kinda bummed out about the last couple weeks. I hope its just a holiday/college exam thing but am wondering if we need to clean house and/or bring some new blood in here.

Re: Remember that whole "raiding" thing?
Don't look at me. I've got papers, work, family illness, weddings, and exams yet I still manage to make it. In fact, I'm kinda bummed that Illidan has kinda shut down for a while since Sajier is on hiatus because Fate broke him.
Bad Fate! Bad!

Re: Remember that whole "raiding" thing?
I think we have a short memory from year to year about the minor "disruptions" that accumulate to affect raid attendance. It always seems to come as a surprise as school demands, concerts, holiday travel, holiday parties, and family obligations tend to peak around the Thanksgiving to New Year period.
I'm not making excuses for us. I, too, find it frustrating to make the effort to be available and on-time only to discover a canceled event. It's not the raid leaders who are responsible for this phenomenon. So, what are we to do? 1. Make sure that we ALL "sign up" for every raid, EVEN IF YOUR STATUS IS UNAVAILABLE! 2. Show up when you can...on time with food, potions, etc. 3. If attendance is a continuing problem after the holiday period, we'll reassess our options...including a review of platoon roster. If we need more or different members, we'll do what it takes to keep our raiding progression in place. We all are aware that we have to juggle priorities and that we need to keep the game "fun" and "engaging" for us as individuals.

Re: Remember that whole "raiding" thing?
Would this be an opportunity for guildies not in the platoon to fill spots for a bit of experience beyond their squads? I know I'm no where near geared but I'm guessing there are others who are close enough to at least try running, i.e. open guild sign-ups within 48hrs of a raid that isn't full. Just a thought.

Re: Remember that whole "raiding" thing?
As much as I miss raiding--i doubt we will see much raiding before '08 rolls around. That being said, we just need to keep our heads up guys--holidays and this time of year bring a LOT of unavailability, we just gotta keep our heads up and start tackling stuff again with all of our effort into it and full swing as soon as possible--these times have broken guilds in the past that i have been in, as i know from being here TG is a lot stronger than that--its a true home for people, the guild will never break, the platoon might re-create itself, but the guild won't fail...thats what we have--lets keep our heads up!
On a side note; As of ,most of you know, my internet has been total garbage--so whatever raids i can make, im prolly gonna be equivalent to my internet in those runs. Wednesday is my only day off this week, i plan on donkey punching someone at my ISP on that day...peace

Re: Remember that whole "raiding" thing?
I recall last holiday season too, so I'm not too surprised; although I thought with the change from 40 to 25 man, it might be a little easier to keep it consistent.
We have a couple weeks or ~4 raids before the next holiday. Maybe we can head into it with another new kill or two ![]()

Re: Remember that whole "raiding" thing?
It's good to understand the reality of the situation that we're in, but we should still expect to be able to continue moving forward, albeit at a slower pace. I, unfortunately, had work travel that put me out of commission the last 2 raid weeks, but hopefully that's done for a while.
One side note that I've noticed in these situations (both this and last year), is that people start only logging in and playing their raiding toons when raids are scheduled. While I understand why this phenomenon occurs (and am guilty of it myself to some extent), those of us who are serious platoon members ought to take steps not to get out of practice with our raiding toons. Part of being on your game for the 25-mans is not just showing up with reagents, pots, etc, but also being prepared mentally for what we face. Taking myself for example, if I log on to my priest 30 minutes before our raid starts having not healed a group on Wintrow for the past week, I am going to be slightly out of practice. I know it hard to believe given how uber I am, but I may be just a few seconds too slow on a heal or hit the wrong hot key or cast the wrong heal for the situation and that contributes to our wipe on Maulgar. Regardless of how good each player is, I firmly believe that this is a factor for everyone. When you compound everyone's "refresh curve", you end up with a wasted raid night or raid week because we can't pull together as 25 players to successfully get through the bosses that we practically farmed in weeks prior. As boring as it may be, we need to keep running instances/raids with our mains to keep on our toes. Many people (myself included) don't have an overwhelming desire to continue farming KZ since there are no more gear drops that they want. We all ought to make a point to continue with our raiding toons in KZ at least once a week, if not more. Thankfully, ZA should help us stay on our toes and break up the monotony of KZ, but this needs to be a focus for all serious raiders in this platoon. Those of you who only seem to logon to your mains to check for raids ought to take this into consideration and find ways to involve yourselves more in the smaller raids. Otherwise, once January does come around and attendance stops being an issue, you may be the one holding the raid back just the slightest bit. Or, in an extreme case, you may find yourself with the short-end of the stick when it comes time for the raid leaders to make those tough decisions. I want to see some more progress here and I certainly won't be the one to hold us back. You guys have my committment on that....

Re: Remember that whole "raiding" thing?
Tonight was fun. Some interesting times against HKM, followed by a Gruul one shot and a Lurker two shot.
Look forward to seeing the WWS report.

Re: Remember that whole "raiding" thing?
Well we'll only get a WWS if someone was logging and sends a report in and its usually Sajier who does that. For information on the actual logging process you should direct yourself here. Since he's on hiatus I don't know if he'll pop in and do it for us still if we have the logs so we might want to look into doing it ourselves.
For people where the whole 'raiding' scene is a little fuzzy from not being there I still say we did pretty well. High King Mulgar was a complete and utter mess and Gaviin's soft voice instead of Sajier "Oh god I don't want to deal with this now" bellow of "EVERYONE OUT" when we were giving up screwed me a few times when I looked around for heals and realized a bit late everyone else has booked it. Gruul was nice and clean and props to everyone on pulling it together for that fight. It was sparkling clean in the sense of "eat food off toilet bowl", but while there were some deaths we still pulled it through in the end. Lurker was fun to revisit even if the loot is mediocre. I admit it that I had a brain fart during the first set up and forgot to set my pet to passive instead of defensive. As a result Frostshock made a beeline for the ambushers on the island and got stuck in the water taking ticks of damage. I used Eyes of the Beast to reposition the stupid wolf and set it to passive and ran out of time as I couldn't immediately drop it. Jumped in the water and got killed with the first emerging spout...along with Bigslick so I didn't feel to bad about it. Second time was much better all around, but we need to get JoW up there ASAP so that we can keep mana high to deal with everything that comes at us. I was chuging [Crystal Mana Potion] from the start one after another as soon as the CD was up and I still ran critically low on mana towards the end. They seriously nerfed hunter PvE mana regeneration when they remove the Feign Death/Drink functionality so now that the old bandaid has been removed the problem is back glaring us in the face of high mana usage and low mana regeneration. Good work to everyone and even if people were joking I agree that it would be interesting to impose a 'good faith' penalty to people who make silly mistakes during raids. 20g into the guild bank for something stupid isn't too bad with how easy it is to make gold doing daily quests now.

Re: Remember that whole "raiding" thing?
I liked the loot Tarenth
. JoW would help though I'm pretty use to chugging mana pots (well, injector charges now). 1/3 mana down - I chug a pot, repeat every 2 min until boss is dead!

Re: Remember that whole "raiding" thing?
Shadow Priests get mana back from damage.
Hunters...don't. I popped my first pot the minute I hit -2000 and kept popping them every 2 minutes. Yeah, the problem is I don't think anyone was actually running a log. But that's just my assumption.
