Tidewalker Down! First Karathress Attempts
Guys, great work tonight. I can't tell you how happy I am to see solid performance and vastly improved work.

Re: Tidewalker Down! First Karathress Attempts
Gratz guys! Tidewalker's a big endurance fight, great job in downing him!
Group composition looks solid, but I would recommend moving Beeper in with the warlocks. The reason for this is simple: http://wowwebstats.com/qs1wqheod3sbk?s=9508-10025&a=50 and http://wowwebstats.com/qs1wqheod3sbk?s=9508-10025&a=51 Shadow damage makes up 33% of the damage taken by tidewalker, and 40% of the damage taken by murlocs. Boosting that Seed of Corruption damage even more will really ease the pain a lot by bringing down the Murlocs faster, bringing down Tidewalker faster, and allowing your Sajier to push higher regen for Beeper himself. The difference wouldn't be extreme, but it would probably bring about 3% overall damage efficiency to your raid. It would be noticeable for certain. Now this would gimp Gaze a little bit, but Frostbolt benefits less from spell damage than Shadowbolt does, and in the end it's better to nerf one person to buff three. Good performance from your rogues, too! |

Re: Tidewalker Down! First Karathress Attempts
Good points, Ark.
The reason we had the groups the way they were was because we had 3 warlocks, a healing priest and a shadow priest in my group, and Beeps group was 2 mages, Beep, a healing priest, and shadow priest. Each healing priest was there so they could PoH their group up after Earthquake to make healing a bit easier. Heroism applied in the kill. Beeper did have a shadow priest in his group, so I shouldn't be taken into account as far as that goes. If you are looking at WWS2's group listing, it takes the inital group setup, and doesn't change it based on individual fights, so you can't see group adjustments that were made prior to a fight. Its not quite as useful as seems. You need to drill down and look at buff applications to truly figure out which group was which.

Re: Tidewalker Down! First Karathress Attempts
Hm, I thought they fixed it per fight. I know in the beta it was borked. Slackers!
Going forward, you'll find healing easier and more predictable, and tossing VE up will help a lot, particularly in a warlock group. |

Re: Tidewalker Down! First Karathress Attempts
VE was kept up by all of the Shadow Priests as we were seeing significant reduction in aggro because we weren't SW: Death'ing with the random damage. I think next time I will SW: Death more as I have a better feel for the Earthquake and Water Tombs.
WWS2 is also still in beta .

Re: Tidewalker Down! First Karathress Attempts
Yeah, Tidewalker is a fight that definitely gets easier every time you do him.
The safest time to SW and Lifetap is when murlocs are coming out, or right after a water tomb. That way there's no risk of going "hmm, apply self damage and WHOOPS RANDOM ASPLODE". Also, your healers will be more "awake" and ready to heal the damage. If you're sneaky, they'll never know you're doing damage to yourself =). |

Re: Tidewalker Down! First Karathress Attempts
That's why I put awake in quotes. It has nothing to do with not being aware, but rather, the more times you experience the fight, the more prescient you tend to get with healing.
Tidewalker has this tendency to go long periods without *doing* anything. Then sometimes he basically spams earthquake. It's very irregular, and once you get the hang of it, it's less jumpy with healing, and then your offtank healers can kind of take a nice break, or divide their love a bit. |
