Platoon Guidelines and Expectations
We have a tight window for raiding. Two or three nights per week at about three or four hours per night makes every minute vital. Due to difficulties that we’ve experienced in the past, the following guidelines and expectations will be used. Note that these may evolve over time; we’ll try to keep them up to date.
SCHEDULING 1) Sign up for raids. If you cannot make it, sign up as unavailable, so we can get a clear picture of people’s availability. 2) Be on your raiding (main) character at the time of invites. Typically this is at 7:30pm. 3) Be at the designated instance at least 15 minutes prior to the raid start time. Typically this is at 7:45pm. Don’t expect to be summoned, ya lazies. Note that it is not acceptable to be late and delay the raid due to finishing instances, dailies, arenas, battlegrounds, or anything on alts. Keep in mind that 24 other people are involved; do not inconvenience them. 4) Show up to the raid. While we have no solid rules around no-shows, if it happens more than once, we will have to take some action. This may include a small period of being ineligible for loot or having to sit out for a raid. Consistent no-shows will not do your membership in the platoon much good. Obviously real-life can sometimes be unavoidable; see point 5, below.5) Let another raid member know (preferably one of the raid leaders), as soon as possible, if you will be late or unavailable. This can be done via (a) cancelling or updating your raid signup, if at least two hours prior to invite time, (b) a forum PM, (c) in-game mail, (d) email, (e) phone call, or (f) carrier pigeon. We’d advise you to exchange phone numbers with someone you trust, as that’s probably the most reliable method of last-minute communication. 6) Stay for the entire run. Our weekday raids typically end at 11:00pm or slightly thereafter. Weekend runs may end closer to 11:30pm or midnight, depending on the will of the raid. If you cannot stay for the entirety of a run, make sure to note this on your signup. Consistently not being able to finish runs will be a problem. 7) Do not expect to bring any alts. PERFORMANCE/SKILL 8) Be prepared. Check the raid signup site and the forums well in advance to see what instance we’ll be raiding. The Raid Strategy Coordinator will present the resources you need to learn about the various trash and boss fights that we’ll be facing. Be sure to check the forums often for those posts. In the event that this information is not posted in the forums, you are expected to search for it and learn it yourself. 9) Know your role. You should know exactly what you need to be doing at any given point during any fight that we’re engaged in; this may (and probably will) change from fight to fight. For example, there may be situations where a mage must focus on crowd control instead of DPS. Finishing the cast of a spell in lieu of refreshing the crowd control that just broke would be absolutely the wrong decision in that case. Proper execution of your designated role for each fight takes precedence over everything else. 10) Know your class. This should go without saying. If it becomes apparent that you are not knowledgeable about the ins and outs of your class, well, that’s not good. 11) Maximize your performance (DPS, healing, tanking). At the very least, you are expected to be able to perform up the level of your peers. If you see others of your class outperforming you (on the damage/healing meters or in a more subjective sense), make sure you take it upon yourself to talk to those people and try to bounce ideas off of each other in order to improve quickly. If there are consistent and significant disparities, this will have to be addressed. Disclaimer: Point 9, above, trumps this point. To continue using the example from 9, of course a mage in that situation would not necessarily be expected to maintain high DPS. 12) Concentrate and be aware of your surroundings. Everyone needs to be focused on the task at hand at all times. 13) Stay alive. A dead raid member does no good. Consistently dying early in fights is a big problem that will need to be addressed. GENERAL 14) Have fun! Things may sound very strict, but of course the overall goal here is to have fun. Hopefully everyone gets enjoyment out of being part of a well-oiled machine and seeing new content because that’s what this platoon is designed for. Make sure you do your part, and we’ll continue to make progress and have fruitful and fun raid nights. If you are unable to meet any of these expectations, please let us know. Thanks, guys! - Resurgent Leadership

Loot Rules and Guidelines
An addendum to clarify loot rules:
General Rolling Guidelines If a piece of loot is an upgrade for the set of gear that you use in your primary role (e.g. tanking, DPS, healing) and you'd like a chance at it, roll need (1-100). If the piece is an upgrade for an off-spec or off-role set, roll greed (1-1000). Simple. Other rules/guidelines may impact this one; see below.5-Raid Night Eligibility In order to be eligible to roll for any loot, you must have fully participated in at least five (5) raid nights with Resurgent. A "raid night" includes any instances that we might venture to in a given night. In other words, if we are in Mount Hyjal at the start, end early and head to Magtheridon, that all constitutes one (1) "raid night". Prior to your sixth (6th) raid night, you must pass on all loot rolls, except in cases when a piece of loot will otherwise be disenchanted. Non-Binded Items In some instances, we may use the Group Loot setting instead of Master Loot in order to ensure that loot won't rot on mobs while we're still engaged in combat. In those cases, everyone but the designated looter or disenchanter must pass on all non-binded items, including greens or blues. Examples of these include [Mark of the Illidari], [Heart of Darkness], [Nether Vortex], and any random green/blue loot. Items such as the Marks, Hearts, Vortexes, and any gathered items will be allocated to Resurgent members via a defined process outlined here. In the case that items such as these are looted by another raid member, please trade or mail the items to the designated looter as soon as is convenient. Passing Once Winning (aka "Spread the Love") When you win a need roll, we ask that you pass on any subsequent rolls (including greed, in some cases) if they would involve rolling against others who have not won something in that instance during that raid week. In other words, if you win an upgrade off of a boss or trash in Instance A, please pass on any other upgrades that might drop in Instance A until the following week, unless the people you're rolling against have also won an upgrade in Instance A that week. If you've won an upgrade and an item drops later that is for an off-spec or off-role set, please refrain from rolling greed if there are other similar greed rollers who haven't won anything in that instance that week. However, greed rolls prior to getting any other loot will not count against subsequent need rolls, since there's no way you could have known an upgrade was going to drop at the time of the greed roll. If we go to multiple instances in a week, loot won in one instance will not "count against you" in another instance. For example, if you win a piece of loot in Mount Hyjal then we go to Magtheridon and another upgrade drops, you are eligible for rolling need. Again, other rules/guidelines may impact this one. As a general guideline that transcends all rules, please keep in mind the gear level of your fellow raiders when rolling on loot. If you have far better gear than a fellow class member, it may be generous and helpful to Resurgent in that case to pass on something that indeed may be an upgrade for you but would be a *big* upgrade for someone else or help them catch up to your overall higher gear level. We encourage you all to have open discussions with others of your class/role prior to raids in order to avoid any confusing situations or bad feelings when phat lewtz drop.
