Re: Strategy Overview – Mount Hyjal 3 – Kaz’rogal

Guards/NPCs reset when there is nothing left of the wave...We'd have to intentionally keep mobs up in the 1st wave so the NPCs wouldn't go back to position

Re: Strategy Overview – Mount Hyjal 3 – Kaz’rogal

Just a suggestion on the gargoyle waves. I think we might be better served sending a few ranged to the back before those waves so that the NPCs don't get the initial aggro. I know I for one was having trouble pulling the gargoyles off the NPCs once they had aggro.

One last thing, the middle hut seemed to be the best place to kite the gargoyles for AOE. It would be a lot more efficient if we kited them all to the same place.

I tend to agree. Using the huts to ground the gargoyles sounded like it was working well, but it still took way to long to kill those guys. If we can establish aggro on those mobs immediately as Muirc suggests, we should be able to ground all of them at once using the hut method and then AOE them down faster.

Re: Strategy Overview – Mount Hyjal 3 – Kaz’rogal

An Addendum

Trash

If Gargoyles are silenced, they will land. All classes capable of ranged spell interrupts should use them to ground Gargoyles as soon as possible.

All DPS needs to show some restraint when it comes to the final trash pack. That pack produces significant strain on the healers, which is compounded when non-tanks start taking damage as well. Allow the healers to focus on healing the MTs only so we don't suffer random deaths right before the boss pull. We have plenty of time to burn those mobs down so all DPS should wait a bit for the tanks to establish solid aggro before beginning your DPS routines.

Boss

The Pull

The entire raid (except for the MT and one hunter) will position themselves behind the road that connects Thrall with the Tauren Warrior's camp, roughly halfway between Thrall and the Tauren. The MT will be set up close to Thrall. Once Kaz'rogal is in range, the hunter will Misdirect the boss onto the MT. The MT will engage Thrall and immediately drag the boss along the road to the Tauren Warrior camp to engage those NPCs as well. All during this time, hunter's should have a Misdirect rotation on the MT to help him build aggro. As long as aggro is set, all ranged DPS can begin damaging the boss as he's moved to the Tauren camp.

Once he is in position and the Tauren are engaged, the entire raid should take positions around Kaz'rogal and move into their normal routines while staying mindful of mana conservation.
