Non-Binded Raid Drop Allocation Process

The overall goal here is to get all the items used in crafting nice gear and gems out to you guys in the quickest and most effective way. This may seem overly complex, but we gave it a lot of thought and think that it'll be an effective method.

We will handle the distribution of non-binded raid drops in the following methods:

Nether Vortex and Heart of Darkness - Updated 6/22
1) If you are interested in a piece of crafted gear that requires one or more [Nether Vortex] or [Heart of Darkness] and you have the rest of the requied materials already, contact Gaviin, Talara, or Wintrow in game or via forum PM with the following information:
- Desired piece(s) of gear
- Gear to be replaced
- Number of items needed to craft desired piece
- Details as to why you want this piece of gear (e.g. "this is the best piece for me until Sunwell")
2) We'll let you know if the request can be met or if we'll need to consult with each other.
3) We are still saving our HoDs for the platoon's shadow resist gear, so please don't expect those to be distributed before we get that done.

Epic Raw Gems - Updated 6/22
Given that our gem supply is a bit better along than it was originally, as well as the fact that most people have gemmed up their existing gear already, we're modifying the gem distribution process.

If you are interested in a gem, contact Gaviin, Talara, or Wintrow in game or via forum PM with the following information:
- Desired gem
- Desired cut
- Piece of gear for which you will be using the gem
- Details as to why you want this use the gem for that piece of gear (e.g. "this is the best piece for me until Sunwell")

In general, as long as the gems will be used to maximize your role in gear that will last you a decent amount of time, your request will be filled (assuming we have the gem in stock). Typically this process will be used for gear that you recently acquired during one of our runs.

Please keep in mind that, if you have tons of badges lying around, it will help the group if you used those to gem up your gear. We acknowledge that everyone should have equal right to the platoon gems, but the reality is that we probably can't support that type of load. So if your badges are just collecting dust, please help us all out. Also, if you are willing to do this, please contact an officer as we may be short on a gem and wish to trade to increase our stock of depleted gems.[/b]

Overall Notes
- Requests should only be made to create an item that will be an upgrade for the set of gear that you use on your main raiding toon in your primary role (e.g. tanking, DPS, healing). Ideally the item should be a significant upgrade that will probably not be replaced soon.
- Epic gems should only be requested if they will be used in a piece of gear that is used in your primary role. That gear should also probably not be replaced soon.
- The more information you provide in your requests, the more easily we'll be able to weigh everyone's requests.
- See a request example in the reply to this thread.

Marks of the Illidari
As many of you know, we've been passing out [Mark of the Illidari] prior to raids when our supply reaches a certain level. Each person with the necessary reputation to turn these Marks into Shattrath Flasks who opens trade with me receives two Marks. This distribution period typically lasts for 20-40 minutes prior to raid invites, with it ending at about 7:25.

We will continue to use this distribution method for the time being. Suggestions are always welcome for process improvements.

Note that people who acquire Marks in this fashion should be using their flasks throughout that night's raid. Also note that even on nights when Marks are not distributed, it is expected that everyone uses food buffs, potions, elixirs and/or flasks in order to achieve their best possible performance. This is especially important on new instances and new fights. People are not necessarily expected to flask up for something like a Magtheridon run; using cheap elixirs is much more feasible.

Re: Non-Binded Raid Drop Allocation Process

The following is simply an example of the type of information we need in a request. You can copy this format or come up with something else.

-----------------------------------------------------------

To Craft: [Swiftstrike Bracers]
Replacing: [Scraggy Leather Bracers]
Item Quality: Best-in-slot until Sunwell

Need: [Nether Vortex] x2
To Craft: [Belt of Deep Shadow]
Replacing: [Moldy Leather Belt]
Item Quality: Best-in-slot until second half of BT

Preference Order: Belt, Bracers

Gem Request:

Need: [Shadowsong Amethyst] x1 --> [Shifting Shadowsong Amethyst] x1
For use in: [Trousers of the Scryers' Retainer]
Item Quality: Best-in-slot until Sunwell

Need: [Pyrestone] x1 --> [Glinting Pyrestone] x1

Preference Order: Pyrestone, Shadowsong Amethyst

Overall Preference Order: Pyrestone, Belt, Shadowsong Amethyst, Bracers

-----------------------------------------------------------
And so you can see all the forum mark-up for the above example, for easy copy/paste/replace:
