Re: Preparation for the path ahead...

I need to kill Al'ar for the quest line.

I was playing around the other night with raid buffs on and I can hit almost 13k health in my pvp gear and still maintain +1600 healing.

PVP Trinkets

I would like every Resurgent member to prioritize getting their [Medallion of the Alliance] trinkets. Some of you may already have the [Insignia of the Alliance], but I'd like you to upgrade. These trinkets need to be used multiple times during boss encounters, so the 5 minute cooldown just won't cut it going forward.

We already have seen their benefit in breaking out of the Icebolt in the Rage Winterchill encounter. These trinkets will play a critical role during the Archimonde encounter (which we will likely see sometime this coming week), where the raid's margin for error is much slimmer than in any encounter we've seen thusfar.

Sadly, I'm likely in the minority of those that do not have this trinket. I've never liked PVP in the 3+ years I've played WoW, but I bit the bullet and started running battlegrounds with some other Resurgent members to build up my honor. You need roughly 17K honor to purchase this trinket, a target that is fairly simple to attain with a few nights of dedicated PVP. Instead of running some heroics on an off night, run some battlegrounds with a group. Make sure you do the PVP daily, as that gives you around 350 honor.

I'd like to see everyone in Resurgent with their trinkets by next week's raids.

I recommend running exclusively in AV (Alterac Valley), as it's been my experience that it provides the fastest honor/hour. Aside from the fact that it's the only BG that Alliance tends to win, you'll generally earn more honor in a losing AV than in a winning run in other BG's (unless they're the daily).

Winning runs in AV will tyically earn ~ 500 honor. Oh, and it's today's daily PVP, so even if you don't get a chance to run it today, be sure to pick up the quest!

Re: Preparation for the path ahead...

I'm going to be running AV when I can to go after [Medallion of the Alliance]. I would welcome any company or hand-holding to compensate for my total PVP noobishness.

EDIT UPDATE: Spent Friday (after the raid cancellation) wandering PVP land...AV, Eye, AB, etc. Gathered about 3,000 honor. Will be doing more on Saturday and Sunday.

I still need Seer Olunn in SSC, then A'lar in TK.

Re: Preparation for the path ahead...

AV certainly provides you with the most raw honor per run. However, I found it really helpful to farm each of the battlegrounds for Marks and turn them in for the repeatable quest at the Shatt Battlemaster. You get 1 Mark even if you lose and the quest nets 340 honor.

When you're in there, just follow around the bulk of people and help them kill what they're killing. You get honor for those kills and will quickly pick up what the purpose of the battleground is.

Re: Preparation for the path ahead...

As a note, I was looking at my rep level with the Ashtongue, and I'm 498 rep away from hitting friendly as I'm sure the other human crafters in the squad at the same chain part are. This is the first rep level that we can start crafting the SR sets allowing for 2 pieces to be crafted. If we need more motivation to go back and kill a'lar to get the ball rolling on the medallion, that quest according to wowwiki awards 500 rep, tipping us over to friendly. Just thought I'd throw out that little tidbit.

Re: Preparation for the path ahead...

Bump as a reminder to those who've been lax in preparing themselves.

The two most important targets that everyone should be focused on this week are:
  1. GET YOUR PVP TRINKET (look @ post #19 in this thread)
  2. GET STAMINA GEAR TO BOOST YOUR HEALTH ABOVE 10K (look @ post #1)

We are quickly approaching a point where this is no longer something individuals can choose to ignore. If you don't do your part, don't expect to be included in raids; it's not fair to everyone else involved who is taking this seriously. I will start hounding individuals myself if necessary...

Rage Winterchill down. Now have the [Medallion of Karabor] and a "high stamina" set is on stand-by for use as needed.
