Arrow Raid Goals - Week of April 15

As one might expect, we will be focusing significant effort on continuing our progression through Mount Hyjal. Wednesday and Thursday will definitely begin in MH. Everyone should plan for our Friday raid taking us into MH as well; the more focused attempts we put in on learning the trash and bosses 3 & 4, the sooner we'll be beating on Archimonde for our Tier 6 helms. Depending on the results of Thursday's raid (and the raid makeup for Friday), there is a possibility that we will head to Magtheridon to start off Friday and then continue to Tempest Keep to take down Al'ar. We will be able to give a definitive answer on Friday's target later in the week. Regardless of where we end up, everyone needs to be focused and prepared to put forth their best effort for the full length of each raid.

As far as our specific goals, everyone should expect another one-shot on Rage Winterchill. Our strategy seems to be well-designed and one that works for us; review it again to be certain you haven't forgotten anything since last week. We one-shotted him last week; there's no reason that we shouldn't do so again.

Once Rage is down, we will regroup, refocus, and prepare our positioning for Anetheron. I fully expect that Anetheron will be down on Wednesday night, with our stretch goal being a two-shot (I'm being generous ).

We will continue on into the Horde camp and work at fine-tuning our strategy on the third round of trash waves. Talara, Gaviin and I have discussed some new tactics; the tanks have coordinated a taunting rotation to mitigate the burst damage we were seeing; and Talara & Gaviin will be working over the next day or so to polish off our new strategies for dealing with that trash. As such, we WILL be seeing Kaz'rogal this week; be sure you are fully read up on and prepared for this encounter. Our goal will be to have Kaz'rogal down this week, with a stretch goal of having him down before 10PM on Thursday, allowing us to get in some practice on the fourth round of trash waves before the night is over.

You may also have noticed that I posted our preliminary strategy for Azgalor, otherwise known as the last boss before Archimonde and holder of our first Tier 6 piece. If that isn't motivation enough to learn this fight and get Resurgent to him this week, I don't know what is. I fully expect that we will put in solid attempts at Azgalor this week. The trash preceding him will be just as challenging as the third round appears to be, so be sure you have read up on it prior to the raid. Because I have such confidence in what we are capable of, I'll even set for us a stretch goal of getting Azgalor down this week, assuming we spend Friday night in Hyjal as well.

If our raiding takes us to Tempest Keep on Friday instead, we should all expect to have Al'ar down this week. I will be posting a Strategy Overview for Al'ar to instill more discipline than we've shown in past attempts; given that we've all seen this fight many times, I'm confident that additional organization is all we will need to clear this blemish on our TK credentials.

As always, review all relevant strategies in depth prior to our raids. No one should accept an invite if they are unprepared. Additionally, I remind everyone of the Platoon Guidelines and Expectations.

Re: Raid Goals - Week of April 15

All things considered, we had a pretty good week.

We reached our goal on Rage: a one-shot.
We reached our goal on Anetheron: he died on Wednesday night.
We reached our stretch goal on Kaz'rogal: he died around 9PM on Thursday.

We missed out on our stretch goal for Anetheron just barely, requiring 3 attempts rather than 2. However, given Talara's repositioning of our DPS raid healers out of range of Carrion Swarm, we've got what looks to be a perfect strategy going forward.

We also missed out on our target for Azgalor, seeing as we were unable to work through the trash waves preceding him. We did get some valuable intel on those trash waves that will help the Raid Leaders prepare a better strategy for this coming week.

I will admit to some disappointment in how Friday's raid played out. We had a number of healers cancel at the last minute, putting the rest of the raid in a real bind. We managed to pull out a Mags kill, but weren't in a position to do anything else productive. Our third raid night will not simply evolve into a casual romp through old content; I'd ask everyone to consider ways to make these raid nights work for us.

In summary, though, we are now at a solid 3/5 in MH and everyone that contributed to that should be proud of what we've done. We've downed a new MH boss each week we've been in there; that's the precedent that we've set and that is what everyone should expect of themselves going forward. Keep up your individual preparation; I look forward to an even more productive week coming up.
