Resurgent Long-Term Goals (Burning Crusade & Beyond)
I expect Resurgent will be continuing to operate at the level that we've seen recently through the remainder of Burning Crusade and well into Wrath of the Lich King content. While we most certainly will lose people along the way, I feel that there is a strong enough core of us who are long tenured, dedicated, and able to continue balancing WoW with their other priorities in life.
For the remainder of Burning Crusade, I feel that Resurgent should be able to clear Black Temple. We also will likely get to a point where we are able to start exploring Sunwell Plateau. I'm not so sure that we'll have the time to make significant progress in Sunwell, but we'll see.
As for Wrath of the Lich King, I expect that we will be in a much better position as a guild to begin our content progression than we were making the transition to Burning Crusade. We were very slow out of the gates in organizing 25man raiding, not beginning until late July, but there were many factors contributing to that. Even 10man raiding was a bit slow to materialize. I don't want to try turning Resurgent into one of the top US raiding guilds or anything, but I would like to see us organized and motivated enough to compete in the upper echelons of Alliance guilds on our server. We are currently ranked #6; if we had been quicker out of the raiding gate, we'd be higher than that.
We obviously know nothing at the moment about what it will take to level up to 80 and prepare for the raiding progression in WotLK, but it is safe to say that everyone will need to do their part to get themselves ready to raid. More to come on this later in 2008...
