Wowwiki – Supremus Bosskillers – Supremus Supremus Video For those of you bothered by these things, the soundtrack in this video does have some naughty words so you may want to mute it. The video is all that matters anyway. Please pay particular attention to the following from this video:
Strategy Breakdown Boss This is a heavy movement fight. It has aspects that are very similar to the Kael’thas and Hydross encounters: specifically, during Phase 2 Supremus will lock onto a single target and walk slowly towards him and there is a complete aggro wipe when transitioning from Phase 2 back to Phase 1. Otherwise, there isn’t anything overly complicated about this fight. Main Tank: You will need to quickly build and maintain high amounts of threat to allow DPS to go all out. You will also have to be aware of when Molten Flame spawns on you and move out immediately. During transition back to Phase 1, you will need to quickly regain aggro as there will be a complete aggro wipe. Given Supremus’s potential for massive crushing blows, a Paladin tank is probably preferred here. You will need to quickly move out of range of Supremus once Phase 2 starts in case he fixes his Gaze on you. Off Tank: An Off Tank will need to be building threat along with the Main Tank to soak up the Hateful Strikes. The Hateful Strikes target the individual within melee range with the highest current health, not maximum health. As such, a Druid Off Tank is preferred. It is critical that the Off Tank have more health than the Main Tank throughout Phase 1. You will need to quickly move out of range of Supremus once Phase 2 starts in case he fixes his Gaze on you. Melee DPS: You must clear out from Supremus before Phase 2 begins. If he fixes his Gaze on you and you are within melee range still, you will be one-shot. This holds true during Phase 2 as well; he follows a target for 10 seconds before switching to another so you will only have a second or two to melee on him before you have to clear out again. Watch out for the Molten Flames when they spawn. Ranged DPS:
Hunters: Be prepared to Misdirect back on to the Main Tank during the transition back to Phase 1. A rotation will likely be needed. Main Tank Healers: The Main Tank will be taking a lot of damage so heals always need to be landing on him. You must stay at max range, but always be ready to move yourself to avoid Molten Fire and keep the MT in range. This will be your sole responsibility during Phase 1. During Phase 2, everyone is on raid heals. Off Tank Healers: The Off Tank must be kept fully healed at all times. In order to keep the Hateful Strikes targeting the Off Tank, you must never allow his current health to remain below the current health of anyone else in melee range. The Hateful Strikes will be up to 7k damage and occur with regularity. Constantly have heals landing on the OT. This will be your sole responsibility during Phase 1. During Phase 2, everyone is on raid heals. Raid Healers: Assuming the raid is paying attention as they should and staying mobile, there shouldn’t be a substantial amount of raid healing during either Phase. Phase 2 is much more likely to require raid healing, given the chaotic movement, Molten Fire, Volcanos, and Molten Punches if the Gaze target is within 40 yards of Supremus. ****All Raid Members**** - Gaze: During Phase 2, it is critical that everyone in the raid keep at maximum range from Supremus as much as possible. Supremus will randomly target 5 individuals, one at a time, for 10 seconds each, during each iteration of Phase 2. When you are targeted, you must immediately run away from Supremus, trying to keep at least 40 yards distance at all times. He runs at 90% run speed, so you can easily get away assuming you started far enough away. If at any point he gets within 40 yards of you, he is able to use his Molten Punch, a 5k hit that will also knock you back. If at any point he gets within melee range of you, you will likely be one-shotted. ****All Raid Members**** - Molten Fire & Volcano: Assuming no one is a complete noob and pulls aggro, the only raid damage that could possibly occur in Phase 1 is from Molten Fire. He will periodically send out a stream of fire from him towards a random player. It moves in a straight line so there is no reason to get hit by this so long as people pay attention and move. During Phase 2, he continues to spawn Molten Fire but also spawns Volcanos randomly that spew out little balls of fire in a tight radius around the spawn point. These also should be easy to notice and avoid as you are running around during Phase 2. Keep DPS high during this fight, but priority should always be to avoid taking damage that is easy to avoid. ****All Raid Members**** - DoTs & HoTs: Anyone capable of applying DoTs or HoTs must be aware of when the transition back to Phase 1 is about to occur and be sure that those effects have fully ticked out. The MT must be allowed to re-establish aggro when Phase 1 resumes.
