Class/Role Intentions in Lich King

Please discuss what your intentions are for your main toon once the expansion hits. Do you want to change your main to a Death Knight? If you are a hybrid class, do you intend to switch your main role going forward? Would you rather switch you main to one of your existing alts? I really don't care what alts you are going to make, but feel free to discuss that as well.

I want to hear from as many people as possible on this topic to help planning efforts for Resurgent going forward. I have very little interest in trying to force someone to stay in a particular class/spec if their heart's not in it, but you all will have to realize that these choices may impact your ability to raid once we begin those efforts. If 10 of you decide that you want to switch your mains to Death Knights, we're probably going to have some issues. If all of our healers decide to switch to dps/tank specs, we're probably going to have some issues. As you post, please keep in mind the value that you bring to the raid in your current role and the overall needs of the group going forward. By way of example (and pardon the lack of modesty here), I am too good of a healer to be thinking seriously about switching mains, especially given how tough it is to find good healers.

The intended audience for this post is existing Resurgent members, but I would also welcome posts from other members of TG who may be looking to jump into serious end-game raiding in Lich King (more on this to come).

As of now I intend to keep Pistos as a shadow priest and as my main. I'm a little concerned with the changes they've made to the class but until we get some "final" information I'm going to assume they will have things fixed come xpac.

I'm in the air with Talara, honestly. I enjoy healing, and (also lacking modesty here) consider myself a really good druid healer...though my heart is feral. It does appear that come xpac, feral druids will have to choose either cat or bear when choosing their talent points. There is alot to pick between.

I believe my main will be Talara, but I won't be forcing her leveling. I'll be using rested xp and try to level another character in her shadow so I don't end up like I did last time. I'll also be focusing more on my professions, which, for the most part, I've neglected for the past 3 years.

As of now, with the warriors talents being complete crap, I'm leaning more towards leveling my hunter or starting up a DK. Unless fury and/or arms gets an overhaul (which might happen due to current blue posts) Skykin will probably be leveling as prot.

Now say warrior talents stay complete crap, starting a DK or leveling my hunter is a huge possibility.

I have wanted to play a Deathknight since before launch so obviously I would love to play that role if given the opportunity (DPS, OT, MT doesn't matter).

However, if the squad/platoon need Sajaman more than a DK, then I will level him with my usual fervor.

I just would like to know what is going to be needed enough before launch to make preparations.

right now they way hunters are getting screwed don't know if shiro will remain my main.. but won't know until I get a chance to play it some. I might pick a mage might go DK don't know. I do know I will never become a healer.. would hate it to much

I'm not 100% sure (more like 95%) that I'll be keeping Aestryd as prot, but if I were to switch, it would likely be to a retadin, boomkin, arcane mage, or (least likely) DK. I doubt the DK though..

Not sure until after I play hunter in the xpac. I am seriously considering playing a DK as I getting a little burnt out from playing Muirc.

My initial intention is to keep my warrior as my main. Spec doesn't matter, however, I will most likely be leveling as a dps spec.

I will be leveling my alts as time allows, and at some point start a DK.

Well, As things are changing for me as well it seems a lot, by the time Lich king comes out I may be able to play again and raid--regaurdless, I will put my post just so everyone knows I am still alive and so if I become avaliable, you can rely on me for whatever..

#1 Druid, always--forever--don't care if they make a shamuid, i'm staying with my druid. As for me, I love all 3 specc's, and I play all 3 quite well I think. I havn't really ever been given the opportunity to play resto with the group, but I could give it a go, I am loving it on the PTR's atm. But I would like boomkin, or BEAR feral, not cat...But it's whatever would be needed of course.

I will however be leveling boomkin, that's what i've gotten used to, and i hate how feral is now cat OR bear--not both--i think it's jacked up that way but whatever that's just me...

Plan currently is to have Gollaen as my main still being Affliction. However points in the tree depend on whether we get a boomkin to raid with us on a more consistent basis or if any of the other locks decide to come to the dot side. As it is now CoE is getting a huge nerf, 6% bonus damage from 10%, making a Malediction speced affliction lock give 9% instead of 13%. Balance Druids still give 13% fully specced (and doesn't stack with CoE). However Curse of Weakness gets a big boost, instead of reducing AP it reduces melee/ranged attack speed by 20% (40% talented).

Depending on class needs, I may end up with Cab or Slick as my main. I will be leveling both very quickly, so I'm holding off a final selection until Blizzard's rapid cycle of buffing and nerfing settles down so I can get a feel of what the playstyles will be.

If Slick, he could be holy or shadow depending on need. Cab has leveled and learned as moonkin, and that's probably where he will stay, though feral cat may be an alternative if they don't lay off the nerf stick attacks on balance.

At the moment without playing a Death Knight I'm not sure what my main will be. I love playing on the PTR on Dominus and if I do keep him as my main he will stay prot. My shaman is an option out there but at the moment I mostly play him to pvp and I haven't been happy with playing him on the PTR. So I guess where I'm at right now is 90% Dominus 10% Death Knight depending on how I like it.
