Re: Debuff Discussion
That's because while warlocks can mimic Demo shout, warriors can't mimic CoE or CoS. Rage really isn't much of an issue since its 10 rage for a 30 second debuff and Gruul can give the main tank plenty of rage per hit. I believe you could also replace CoA with CoR for the additional armor debuff (the only one to stack with sunder armor/expose armor) and cancel the AP buff with Demo-shout instead. Its one of those 'more damage done instead of less damage taken' trade offs that were made in old world raiding.
None of our hunters use a Scorpid so Scorpid poison is out. Its sad really since with the Focus improving talents the pet can keep a stack of 5 up indefinately and its 55 damage every 2 seconds that ignores armor. We also have no survival hunter in guild currently so Expose Weakness if out as well. Without a DPS/Tanking Paladin we can cut out Judgement of Crusader and pretty much all the Judgements there since they don't stand in melee when they do healadin duties. I find it odd that they skipped Winter's Chill though since that's stock frost mage. Speccing out of Shadow Embrace is also somewhat silly IMHO since -5% damage is rather nice in the long run. If Gruul is hitting a plate tank with 60% armor for 9k a pop then SE is going to be cutting it down 1125 damage before armor mitigation.

Re: Debuff Discussion
They skipped it because the group that they were using as an example were pure fire mages.

Re: Debuff Discussion
I'm currently combat mutilate (41-20-0) spec which is really excellent against mobs that can be poisoned (mutilate damage is increased 50% against poisoned mobs) and encounters with lots of in/out fighting (most TBC bosses). Deadly poison is by far the best "sticky" pve poison option. The dot aspect accounts for approximately 10% of my total individual damage and the debuff increases melee mutilate damage as mentioned above.
The glaring weakness of the mutilate spec comes when facing poison-immune mobs, such as the upcoming Voidreaver & Hydross, where you lose the dot damage and the melee mutilate damage bonus. It sounds like many mutilate rogues respec combat daggers (15-41-5) when learning the new encounters against the poison-immune bosses to max dps output. I was hoping to avoid respeccing combat daggers because it pretty much sucks in the pvp setting, but I have no problem respeccing if it seems like it would be beneficial to the raid. In fact, I plan on respeccing combat swords in the future, but that is >month away due to missing a few weeks of arena matches ![]() |

That being said, the damage from the Deadly Poison dot would be sad to lose, as Aeryck mentioned. I'm not sure it'd be worth it to lose those.
