Re: AAR: Mags 9/20

I posted a screenshot to the PvE progression thread on the Thunderhorn forums. Once Kwanza updates it, TG will leapfrog to the #7 alliance guild position on the server.

Nice work, everyone! Great kill.

[Woot! According to WWS, Xyris is now a druid.]

Re: AAR: Mags 9/20

Some observations on Beep deaths. Attempt #3 healing was very light on transition. Not sure if we had healers out of position or not. Basically just Enya and I healing...not sufficient when Beep takes a 11730 crushing blow.

03:47'27.348 Beep's Melee hits Magtheridon for 182
881 Magtheridon's Melee hits Beep for 5452 (255 blocked)
03:47'28.290 Enya's Regrowth dot heals Beep for 402
302 Beep's Prayer of Mending heals Beep for 1745
303 Beep performs Prayer of Mending
303 Beep gains 1 Rage from Shield Specialization
481 Enya's Lifebloom dot heals Beep for 193
932 Beep's Melee hits Magtheridon for 187
03:47'29.466 Enya's Lifebloom dot heals Beep for 193
993 Magtheridon's Melee hits Beep for 11730 (crushing)
03:47'30.269 Beep's Reflect hits Magtheridon for 17 Nature damage
488 Enya's Lifebloom dot heals Beep for 192
531 Beep's Melee dodged by Magtheridon
086 Flared's Greater Heal heals Beep for 4727
03:47'31.336 Enya's Regrowth dot heals Beep for 402
475 Enya's Lifebloom dot heals Beep for 193
906 Magtheridon's Melee hits Beep for 7223 (255 blocked)
920 Beep's Lifebloom heals Beep for 1381
03:47'32.295 Beep dies

Attempt #4...four healers here but had a very quick succession of big hits from Mags:

03:56'16.621 Beep gains 1 Rage from Bloodrage
737 Anastacea's Greater Heal heals Beep for 3367
143 Beep gains Lifebloom
151 Flared's Greater Heal heals Beep for 3557
03:56'17.301 Beep's Melee crits Magtheridon for 418
660 Beep gains 1 Rage from Bloodrage
868 Magtheridon's Melee dodged by Beep
944 Lunatg's Holy Light heals Beep for 4744
03:56'18.625 Beep gains 1 Rage from Bloodrage
159 Beep gains Renew
164 Beep's Heroic Strike hits Magtheridon for 350
03:56'19.813 Magtheridon's Melee hits Beep for 10229 (crushing)
971 Beep's Devastate hits Magtheridon for 254
03:56'20.385 Beep's Reflect hits Magtheridon for 23 Nature damage
423 Beep's Melee parried by Magtheridon
495 Enya's Regrowth dot heals Beep for 402
749 Enya's Lifebloom dot heals Beep for 386
762 Baylord's Holy Light heals Beep for 4895
033 Magtheridon's Melee hits Beep for 7086
148 Beep gains Shield Block
03:56'21.539 Beep's Reflect hits Magtheridon for 23 Nature damage
718 Enya's Lifebloom dot heals Beep for 385
755 Flared's Renew dot heals Beep for 718
945 Beep's Revenge hits Magtheridon for 262 (54 blocked)
03:56'22.393 Beep's Heroic Strike hits Magtheridon for 354
756 Enya's Lifebloom dot heals Beep for 385
759 Beep gains Revenge
769 Flared's Greater Heal heals Beep for 3385
151 Beep's Lifebloom heals Beep for 1452
151 Magtheridon's Cleave hits Beep for 9861 (255 blocked)
03:56'23.562 Beep dies

Attempt #6. Two hit death for Beep...happened very fast on transition:

04:11'55.531 Beep's Melee misses Magtheridon
542 Beep gains Blood Pact
938 Enya's Lifebloom dot heals Beep for 211
942 Beep gains Rejuvenation
101 Enya's Regrowth dot heals Beep for 426
04:11'56.732 Beep gains Shield Block
942 Enya's Lifebloom dot heals Beep for 210
942 Beep's Lifebloom heals Beep for 1467
076 Beep's Melee hits Magtheridon for 140 (glancing)
142 Magtheridon's Melee hits Beep for 3909 (255 blocked)
04:11'57.564 Beep's Prayer of Mending heals Beep for 1754
564 Beep performs Prayer of Mending
564 Beep gains 1 Rage from Shield Specialization
04:11'58.373 Baylord's Flash of Light heals Beep for 1801
550 Enya's Rejuvenation dot heals Beep for 845
761 Flared's Greater Heal heals Beep for 4753
134 Magtheridon's Melee hits Beep for 11429 (crushing)
04:12'00.230 Beep's Melee parried by Magtheridon
588 Magtheridon's Melee hits Beep for 6748 (255 blocked)
04:12'01.198 Beep gains 1 Rage from Shield Specialization
198 Beep's Thorns resisted by Magtheridon
562 Beep dies

That's 18K damage on Beep in less time than it takes to cast a big heal.

BTW, I'd like to see us getting out of the habit of blaming the healers for every tank death. I'm getting very, very tired of having to explain that "Yes, my heals were landing on Beep" when he went down. Take a look at the numbers above as to why the tank went down...too much damage in too short of a time.

Also we should award a hero medal to Pistos for getting off a click on the 4 o'clock cube in the nick of time with practically no notice, after Elm got clobbered by the debris. He had a long way to run to pull that off. That was a great effort.

Re: AAR: Mags 9/20

i agree with flared i know how it is to have the healers blamed since a thousand years ago i was a healer!
no one should be blamed for anyone going down, is there really a reason to say "beep died, why did he die, WHO WASNT HEALING HIM!" why not just say "come on guys beeps down someone pick him up" or "oh poop beep is down again..." and leave it at that? not everything is always the healers fault! usually its mine! RAWR!
the wws is all wrong! mine shows me at #3 dmg output! and it shows me as a priest... i took sajiers advice and was dotting not only what i was supposed to be on, but the second thing i we where moving to. it did wonders i think, i also stopped dps on target 1 when he was at 4% and went to nxt one so i can start up the mana reg all over again to keep it flowing. seemed to work well, i dont recomend anyone other then the shadow priests do it since itll take dps off at the 4% mark completely and the tank is having to kill it DUH! but maybe 2 of 3 shadow priests do it so we can get that mana reg going faster.

another thing i think is weird on that wws is i was there (and i know the other 24 where) 100% of the time but flared is the only one at 100%... did you do the combined thing? i cant get mine to split up days so i had to trim logs but anyways...

GOOD JOB TONIGHT!

Re: AAR: Mags 9/20

Gratz everyone on the kill! Let's stay focused up on Gruul and Mags and get them both down in the same night next week. If everyone stays focused there's no reason we shouldn't be able to do that and then hit something new on the second night.

It wasn't the prettiest thing tonight but it was much better to end with him dead.

Re: AAR: Mags 9/20

The E-peen meter (aka damagemeters) use your active combat log to parse together aproximations of information. If you aren't reporting all the infromation (like you have certain settings turned off) and you aren't reporting everyone in the area (out of range) then you will get inflated numbers and a vastly overstatement of your worth.

Damage meters don't measure success. Kills measure success.

They do, however, measure needs for improvement. ^_^ I'm happy all out dedicated DPS classes are at 500 DPS or higher. That's a nice benchmark we should be proud of. Warlock, of course, aren't dedicated DPS on that fight due to needing to put up curse of toungues and banish multiple mobs.

On that note: Learn to heal your pet Jest. Its dying far too soon in the fights and costing you a significant portion of your damage. Burn (a DPS pet) is doing 8% of your damage while Frostshock (a Support Pet using howl only) is doing 12% of mine. Of course Shiro's is doing 20%, but he's BM specced. ^_^

I second that! Pistos reacted very quickly and saved the raid. For me, it was probably the longest 2 seconds in the night. For a second, I thought he was not going to make it.

*Pistos makes a diving jump towards the cube.* <click> Sweet.

I know we can stand to the side of the cube a few yards away, to avoid debris on the cube itself. However, in this case, I was so focused on watching the Blast Wave cast bar go off to get the click on time, that I did not even see the debris, much less react to it. The lesson learned is to watch more of the screen, not just the enemy portrait. :-P I know there are addons to move the enemy cast bar to a more central screen location. I need one of those. >.>

And if the Pisto's race towards the cube was not enough, the ending was just as dramatic. Oh, and Beep was one of the few left standing. How appropriate. :-)

Great work everyone!

Re: AAR: Mags 9/20

This is based on memory (which is probably faulty):

Amalie: [Eye of Magtheridon]
Gaviin: [Chestguard of the Fallen Champion]
Baylord: [Chestguard of the Fallen Champion]
Sharabeth (I think): [Magtheridon's Head]
Jest: [Cloak of the Pit Stalker]

Okay, Gnopaine beat me to it...and my memory isn't so faulty.

Re: AAR: Mags 9/20

I'm just glad I went to the right cube. There were a number of very good adjustments made in that fight and as we have seen in past weeks one missed cube during any of the blast waves is a wipe. So good job to everyone and lets figure out ways to make it go smoother in the future.

Re: AAR: Mags 9/20

BTW, that WWS report was only my log so is less accurate (if you were across the room from the 6 o'clock position especially). The "presence" thing basically means you died & released and left the instance while I was still in there so you weren't "present".
