ZA achievable loot list. What do you need from Kara?

Just recapping and expanding on the topic Wisp raised tonight...

With only one night per week now dedicated towards 10-man raiding, we should take a look at what gear we still need from Kara, and whether there is achievable loot that is better in ZA. At some point (after the critical pieces are obtained) we'll want to be focusing our efforts there as the upgrades are massive and few drops will be DE fodder (though Kara remains a phenomenal source of badges --19 in less than 3 hours tonight, woot!).

Here's the loot avaiable from the first 3 bosses in ZA, along with the roles withing Cocidius' composition for whom it would probably be most suitable. I'm just listing the first 3 as they are feasible at our current gear level. Standard ZA loot is designed to be on par with loot avaiable in T5 content (SSC/TK). I'm leaving out the remainder as it will be some time before we're geared to manage the later fights. I've noted the 'timed' loot as well, but that will be much more challenging to achieve (though I'm confident after what we saw the first run that we can get the first set within the timer after a few weeks of practice). Timed loot is unreal, and designed to be scale towards loot from T6 content (MH/BT).

After reading this post and reviewing the items below (especially those from the first 2 bosses) in comparison to those whose drop you are still awaiting in Kara, please reply with the items you still do need from Kara.

Akil'zon (Eagle)

The first time 9 of us had ever seen this boss, we got him to 7%. He's absolutely manageable and I'm confident he'll be down the next time we see him. He's also the one generally recommended as the first target for the timed event. With a little practice and experience, we will be able to clear to him quickly enough to get an opportunity to one-shot him for the first timed chest. It won't be easy, and it won't happen right away, but we can definitely manage it.

[Akil'zon's Talonblade] -- Rogue
[Amani Punisher] -- Shadow Priest
[Mojo-mender's Mask] -- Resto Shammy
[Bloodstained Elven Battlevest] -- DPS off-set for Warrior/Pally
[Chestguard of Hidden Purpose] -- Holy Pally
[Brooch of Nature's Mercy] -- Holy Pally / Resto Shammy
[Signet of Ancient Magics] -- Mage / Shadow Priest
[Formula: Enchant Weapon - Executioner] -- Enchanter (on a side note, Pistos picked this up the other night if anyone needs it)

Nalorakk (Bear)

We came, we saw, we kicked his bear-butt. He's not a chump, but he's not that hard either. The challenge for us with this boss will be the last pull to get to him, which makes beating the timer a bit more of a challenge. Easy loot though.

[Fury] -- Hunter / Rogue
[Fury of the Ursine] -- Mage / Shadow Priest
[Robes of Heavenly Purpose] -- Healing offset for Priest
[Bladeangel's Money Belt] -- Rogue / Druid
[Pauldrons of Primal Fury] -- Hunter
[Jungle Stompers] -- Tanking offset for Pally (gratz to Adoweld from the first run)
[Mask of Introspection] -- Holy Pally
[Formula: Enchant Weapon - Executioner] <grin>

Halazzi (Lynx)

This guy is going to be a serious challenge for us. We'll need to really step up the DPS for him, and tanks are going to have to be very reactive. It's a healing- and mana-intensive fight with lots of chaotic raid damage, but no elements that we haven't seen in other fights before. It's a fun fight, but he may leave his mark on us a few times before we tame this cat.

[Robe of Departed Spirits] -- Mage
[Shoulderpads of Dancing Blades] -- Rogue / Druid
[Shimmer-pelt Vest] -- Healing offset for Druid
[Avalanche Leggings] -- DPS off-set for Shammy
[Skullshatter Warboots] -- DPS offset for Warrior / Pally
[Spaulders of the Advocate] -- Holy Pally
[The Savage's Choker] -- Rogue / Druid

----------------------

Timed Loot

From the time the door opens at the gong, a 20 minute timer starts. If we kill a boss before that timer expires, we rescue a prisoner who unlocks a chest with uber-loot. Additional time is added to the time remaining, and if the second boss is completed before that time runs out, the same happens again for the third, and once more for the fourth. Successfully completing any segment of the timed event will require no wipes, minimal if any deaths, and minimal downtime. That means going in flasked, knowing the path and pulls, chugging pots every time the CD is down, and people who die releasing and running back while the others forge on.

Each successful timed kill releases a chest that contains a specific category of loot. Below is the loot from chests in the order they are achieved:

Timed Chest 1 (Armor)

[Cord of Braided Troll Hair] -- Healing offset for Priest[Mantle of Ill Intent] -- Mage
[Life-step Belt] -- Healing offset for Druid
[Shadowhunter's Treads] -- Hunter
[Pauldrons of Stone Resolve] -- Prot Warrior
[Cloak of Fiends] -- Hunter / Rogue / Druid
[Shadowcaster's Drape] -- Mage / Shadow Priest

Timed Chest 2 (Weapons)

[Amani Divining Staff] -- Mage / Shadow Priest
[Rage] -- Rogue
[Trollbane] -- Hunter
[Tuskbreaker] -- Hunter
[Umbral Shiv] -- Rogue
[Staff of Dark Mending] -- Resto Shammy

Timed Chest 3 (Rings)

[Mana Attuned Band] -- Mage / Shadow Priest
[Signet of Eternal Life] -- PVP Ring
[Signet of the Last Defender] -- Prot Warrior
[Signet of Primal Wrath] -- Hunter / Rogue / Druid
[Signet of the Quiet Forest] - Holy Pally / Resto Shammy

Timed Chest 4 (Mount)

Ok, so it'll be a looooooooooooooooong time before we can get through the first 3 in timed event, much less all 4, but this has a pretty cool drop.

[Amani War Bear] -- Shadow Priest ;-)

Re: ZA achievable loot list. What do you need from Kara?

I'm notably short a chest and a waist. The chest can be attained from ZA, but the waist (netherspite) will still be an issue. I'm working towards a pvp waist, since the one from kara doesn't like Pridefc or me

[Staff of Primal Fury] off Hex Lord Malacrass. Once you get down the four aspects he's not too much trouble to learn. I imagine you'll have him down before you have the third boss down in the timed event.

Re: ZA achievable loot list. What do you need from Kara?

Thanks for the imput Pistos. I would LOVE that staff. seems to be more of a DPS one but a FRIGGIN UBER one at that. And just to clarify, while I am not seeing many bear tank upgrades in first 3 bosses, I do very much want us to go there as a aquad... new challenges and progression for the group overall is well worth it. ZA FTW!
