Re: PC Problem

I'm starting to wonder if all these upgrades are worth the gain in FPS you are looking for in ArmA. Just think about the cost vs. benefit.

Re: PC Problem

A new CPU would be beneficial. If you're not on Core 2 now, it's a good move. That should help with framerates in SP since there are more AI characters to control.

Re: PC Problem

It is amazing how the price actually went up on the E8400. I guess I was lucky to have gotten mine for the $218. Seems like the demand for them has driven the price really high. Almost better to consider the Q6600 since it is a quad core. In a small way I still wish I would have held off and got the new 45nm quads coming out instead of the E8400 dual core. I seen basically the same identical set up as I have except the other computer was running a Q6600 and it seemed to run slightly better, not just on gaming but everything.

Re: PC Problem

I am just going to buy:

Intel Core 2 Duo E4600 2.4GHZ CPU
Arctic Silver 5 Thermal Compound
ARCTIC COOLING Freezer 7 Pro 92mm CPU Cooler
ZEROtherm Hurricane HC92 Cu 8800 UFO VGA Cooler

This is all i need to make my computer shine. I am not a hardcore gamer but just a casual one looking to have fun. So to me having 8 gigs of memory and a 3.0GHZ Quad- Core CPU means nothing to me
