I've been using that tool for the last 2 years. It's actually fairly accurate.

It says for me 345 watts.

Quad 6600 Go stepping (overclocked, but no extra voltage added)
4X 1 gig 1066 Corsair Dominator
EVGA 8800GTS 640MB
Asus p5k Deluxe Wi-Fi
1x Raptor HD (SATA)
1x Seagate 320 HD (SATA)
Soundblaster Xtremegamer
1x DVD-RW
1x DVD-ROM
4x 120mm Fan

I went with the Corsair 620watt, just to be on the safe side.

give an average 3 year wear on that system and it adds up to be close to 500 at boot

mine is 480 or if i overclock 550

See. It shows that all the hype that you need a 1KW PSU isn't what everyone says it to be.

The numbers are also partially inflated and so it's not 100% accurate but gives you a feel for how much power your system might draw from the outlet.

If you guys browse around Silent PC Review enough, you'll soon be asking: "Why did I just spend $250 on a 1000W PSU?"
