Re: Need Microphone Help Please...
I still think USB would be the easiest fix too. It eliminaties the chance it could be your sound card/MB, and you just have to get the settings like he posted in the picture up there.

Re: Need Microphone Help Please...
Then you need to try all your USB ports.
If it doesn't show up, then there is a lot more going wrong with your PC than just the Mic. Does any USB stuff show up? Thumb drive, mouse, keyboard?

Re: Need Microphone Help Please...
Did you look on the maker's website to see if there are any drivers?
Does it make that noise when you plug it in or unplug it?

Re: Need Microphone Help Please...
No software is required, and the drivers are standard in win xp (at least SP2). As bamboo stated, it should make the 'ding' when you plug it in. It's only USB interface 1.1 which rules out a lot... I'm puzzled for sure. Could always install the junk they give you on the disc, maybe it'll help out.
*EDIT: Could check if theres any conflicts with your devices, or devices that have not been installed properly: * Right click my computer * Properties * Hardware tab * Device manager Points of interests being Sound, video and game controllers, and Universal Serial Bus controllers. If theres no conflicts, no sound when you plug it in (and other devices do), and it isn't detected when its plugged in then I would say the product could be faulty. Does the LED light up when you push the power button on the microphone? |
