I am the exact say way man.
And the reason you would want more than Windows firewall is as I said above, if you get something on your computer, windows will do nothing to stop it sending out info. A firewall like ZA or Comodo will say
"What the hell is this program doing trying to send out my owners personal credit card #s, I'm put a smack down on that Be-atch!" (that is what the little pop up window is)

A man would be stupid to keep any type of personal information like that on their personal computer. A business computer may have this information but not the home computer. I never store any personal information cause you never know 100% that that information won't be sent no matter what is used, hardware or software?!?!

AVG also lets you know if something is calling out, and lets you immediately add a permanent rule to allow/deny.
