What BF2142 can play on

(Didn't know where else to put this topic)
Well I installed BF2142 and when I click on the shortcut/program file the disk spins and the screen goes black like its about to start then something comes up and sais

BF2142.ex Has stopped working
A problem caused the program to stop working correctly.
Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.

And when I run this thing "EasyInfo" that installed with BF2142(I guess...?) It comes up and everything passes BUT this,

..|Your System| |Results| |Game Requirements|
..|Unknown| ....... |Fail|.........|Windows XP|

I have Vista but can it not run without XP? Thats my question.
EDIT: Oh yeah and I'm running on Admin.

2142 will run on vista I have 32 and it runs great. are you running vista64?

Possibly try running it in xp compatibility mode even though I've never heard of anyone else running it that way. also try posting here in the 2142 Tech forum

XP Compatibility? whats that? and it is 32. And if anyone asks my drivers are fully updated and my specs are at the reccomended or above.

if you right click the program icon, got to the properties option then the compatibility tan you can choose to run it in xp mode. I run it n vista but it took some tweaking to get it going.... first i have to run it with user account control disabled and i also had to manually update punkbuster using pbsvc.exe and pbupdate.exe from evenbalance.com. if you wanna know exactly how just let me know, otherwise i wont go into details here.

This was solved in the 2142 forums. The graphics card didn't have 3d acceleration. http://www.tacticalgamer.com/battlef...-can-play.html
