Wow, reading everything that you just when through I was thinking plan 'Z' would be enacted...

However considering your desire to upgrade your sisters rig I can't blame you for not going that far.

Just wanted to make sure that you installed directx9c - the latest version came out in June. I was told to install it before installing the video drivers, but who knows.

I have heard a few people having issues like this after XP SP3 update so you might watch out for that as well.

Also, check your power supply to make sure it is okay.

I figure that somehow Windows became corrupt after I shut down the night before. Honestly I do not know how it could have corruipted itself when it was running just fine before.

Anyways, no more troubles from that system now. Plus it even has SP3 installed.

Plan Z could have been an option if I worked myself up to that point (replace alcohol with ice).
