Oh, I have to use that excuse on my wife. Sorry honey, I didn't want this 4870x2, it was a bad buisness deal

Re: Hardware tech testing with Crysis Warhead

That's horrible, just horrible.

When they said that "Warhead is going to be much more playable than Crysis", I had it figured that framerates would be on par with what I could get in CoD4.

1680 x 1050 "Mainstream Quality", my 8800GT would only put out about 44 fps. It seems they haven't dumbed down the resource intensiveness of the game as much as I would have liked to see.

I feel the game still forces gamers who want the extra 10 or so fps to go and throw down $300-600 on one of the GTX200s or the HD4870x2s.

Notice the ATI cards and crossfire still don't do much better then an single card in Crysis.

Yep. I don't plan on investing in SLI/Crossfire unless games start supporting multiple displays. Then I would have a use for multiple video cards.

I don't own Warhead myself, but are there more custom settings I can adjust or did they design it so gamers can only pick one of the three?

(The whole "Enthusiast", "Gamer", "Mainstream" thing sounds like the game was ported over from the consoles.)

Re: Hardware tech testing with Crysis Warhead

There are a ton of hacks you can do, including as the post mentions above, a ultra enthuist type setting.
