Well, I did every step in here, and re-installed the new drivers. I can't use these for whatever reason. At first, 2142 will look good, run smooth, but every time, regardless of if I have the in game settings on high, medium or low, I start to get really crappy graphics problems, like the whole screen turning white when my player is turned certain directions, or odd purple or green squares in random places on the screen, etc.. So late last night I followed all the driver removal steps and re-installed my previous drivers, and everything works great again. I wonder if it's the PhysX portion of the driver that's causing the problems.

I seem to be in that little group every time a driver comes out...I am fine every time. I dont have to driver-sweep or none of that. Wierd...

group just got bigger

whenever I die via explosion my screen goes black for ~2 seconds

178 doesn't look good for 2142 users.

Re: New NVIDIA WHQL Drivers

Why, is there help for this problem there somewhere? I was on the Nvidia forums just a bit ago, and so far all I've seen are people with the exact same problem as us, but no solutions yet. I'd love for this driver to work, because the little taste of running them full out at max settings was pretty sweet! Looked to me like the lighting effects are much improved.

Excuse me while I laugh at the irony for a minute (laughs). nV and ATI seem to have switch roles nowadays. It's not ATI having driver problems, it's nVidia.

If this driver causes me to not be able to use "restart" in Vista b/c of BSODs on restart, I won't install it. I'll check the nVidia forums to see what else people have trouble with after installing this new one.

Re: New NVIDIA WHQL Drivers

I was saying to look and see if other people were having problems, or if there were solution.

Re: New NVIDIA WHQL Drivers

Usually true Feral, but as you saw in the release notes, updating gfx. card drivers can really improve things. 15% or more is a big deal with FPS if you are running low.

Re: New NVIDIA WHQL Drivers

While on the Nvidia subject, here are a couple more good articles just posted:

CUDA, What Is It and What Does It Mean To You?

and

Roy Taylor on game physics, AI & piracy

summary of 2nd article:
Quote:
Roy Taylor on game physics, AI & piracy on bit-tech.net offers highlights from a sit-down with this NVIDIA vice president who also serves as a member of the PC Gaming Alliance. The conversation covers both of these jobs, discussing NVIDIA's recent foray into physics, AI support, and DirectX 11 as well as the PC Gaming Alliance's anti-piracy efforts.

Re: New NVIDIA WHQL Drivers

For me the new drivers seem to work in 2142 just fine. Things are maybe a little bit smoother now.
