Older highend cards?
Like the 2900 and 3870 as well as the 8800s, i need a recommendation from people who actually HAVE one of those cards as reviews doesnt really tell the whole story and neither does benchmarks. I have read tons of those and i still cant make up my mind so i thought i'd ask here.
2 requirements Can run crysis at medium at at least 1280*768 without it being a slide show, 30 and above AND Not require more than 500Watts. Oh yeah I dont ever use AA or AF or any of that fancy crap. I guess 3 requirements it cant cost a fortune.

Where can you buy from?
an 8800GT or most any G92 core Nvidia card should do you ok as well G92 core cards: 8800GT, 8800GTS 512, 9800GTX, 9800GT Id go for an 8800GT and clock that sucker up, you can easily get the speed up to 700MHz from 600MHz

Re: Older highend cards?
I have the 8800GTS with 640MB of memory and I absolutely love this card. Its a dual slot cooling solution, but its getting alil long in the tooth. Better cards can be had for the same cost

Re: Older highend cards?
Reaperassault and I both own 8800GTs. I for one haven't tried Crysis yet on my machine, but I'm pretty sure it can run at 1024 x 768 (no AA, no AF) at medium settings just fine.
See here. That link should lead you to a older bench of a 8800GT using the Crysis Demo at 1600 x 1200 using High Quality mode. The 8800GT gets 35.5 fps (probably average). So reduce the resolution and quality, you could probably hit anywhere from 60 - 90 fps.

Re: Older highend cards?
I have a 2900XT and I think its a good card but between the three listed, the 8800GT is a faster card. Like others have said, I would look into the 4850 before you make a final decision.
