Forum tags
This is about the forum software used at TG:
I just figured out how to use the tags system to create "shared bookmarks" of collections of threads, because I wanted to be able to find a bunch of food-related threads in the future.
Go to the bottom of a thread and you'll see a box labeled "tags". Over on the right edge of the box you'll see a link "Edit Tags". Click this link to add your own idea of what the thread is about. You get up to 2 tags per thread. Separate them with commas, not spaces, or you'll get a 2-word tag, which probably isn't what you want. (Guess how I found that out!
) If you make a mistake, you can use "Edit Tags" to remove your tag(s) and replace them.
Now when you need to search for a subject that you've tagged, click Search in the forum menu up top to get the search menu, and select Tag Search.

Here's the result of my search for the tag "food":

If you're creating a thread, you can tag your own thread with up to 5 words. There's a convenient box to add the tags (again, separated by commas!) right below where you enter the text for the new thread.
There's some info on tags in the forum FAQ:

Re: Forum tags
I added a couple tags today, computer building for all those threads about building a new rig, and birthday for all the "happy birthday" threads. Be sure to tag your threads as you create them!
