Giz Explains: What's So Great About LED-Backlit LCDs

I have been putting off buying a new bigscreen TV for a while now because I was waiting on a few things to get around to being mainstream, like the 120hz refresh and the LED-Backlight screens. For those that don't know why it makes a big difference, Gizmodo just did an awesome writeup on it

Giz Explains: What's So Great About LED-Backlit LCDs

It is a quick and easy read!

I am extreamly tempted now to pick up one of the new Samsung just released. They are already dropping pretty quick in price and are getting close to where the 2008 models ended up being about Christmas time last year.

I am really trying to hold off till more TVs feature the Netflix streaming service built in. I think if the Samsungs already had that, I might be in line at BestBuy right now. I hope they include it in a firmware update since they are already internet connected.

While on the subject this was just posted:

    HDMI 1.4 officially detailed: Ethernet / Audio Return channels, 3D, 4K x 2K support

Part I like is that if it supports ethernet, all those web apps and maybe netflix won't require a sep. ethernet cable.

    Edit:
Well hell, you go to work for a few hours and they don't stop posting new news.
Check out this new samsung and drool a bit:
