Discussion: General Forums / Hardware & Software Discussion - IS this worth the price - Quad Core Game PC
€ 800.00 in stock
Intel Q6600 Quad-Core 4096MB DDR3 1066Mhz RAM
That seems overpriced. My PC had Phenom II X4 955 BE, 500 gb HD, 4gb RAM, a gtx 275, mobo plus a samsung DVD drive and with a 21" widescreen monitor all for about ~820 euros when converted.
That doesn't include the OS, but has a slightly faster gfx. card and a killer CPU. You could pic a different case for a few bucks more as well, or a different gfx. card. Then download and run the windows 7 release canidate till the full version comes out on OCT. 22nd so you wouldn't have to buy Vista or XP right now.
What games are you looking to play on this and the size of the monitor you want to get will dictate what gfx. card to choose.
AM arma 2 and crysis and other games that tactical gamer are playing.
I already have a xp disc .
Other thing i mite just update my old pc.
Sapphire Radeon HD 4890 1GB GDDR5
AMD Athlon X2 5050e
I was thinging of getting.
IT's a 19in montior.
Yep.

Ok thanks i wasn't playing on getting windows 7 very new and it probably need a few updates before it good.
So would that be ok bamboo the processor and the graphic card.
remember windows 7 RC does not support punkbuster yet
That may not be accurate anymore. Download the pbsetup app from them and manually update punkbuster through that. Bamboo mentioned that BF2 and PR are working and I can attest that Call of Duty:WaW runs just fine in multiplayer.
Bravo Microsoft, you have now surpassed EA in poor decisions and once and for all seized the crown for the worst 'Reveal' ever. That EA were standing there on the stage with you when you did it was...

Took a gamble and got a refurbished 30 GB OCZ Vertex 1 off of NewEgg for the low, low price of $30. Had some trouble getting the drive to be recognized by Windows or by my BIOS. Had to use a jumper...
