Will this work?
New problem. Will this run a 8800 GTS 312mb without breaking?
my system specs I plan to run on it are:
4400+ AMD Athlon
8800 GTS 312mb
2GB 400mhz DDR2 ( two 1gb sticks)
Some old crappy dvd drive.
I just went through a Win power 450w PSU trying to run it. I was silly and didnt check the graphic cards requirements.

Re: Will this work?
I run that card with a 500 Watt. Full Spec Quad Core q6600 OC to 2.7, 4 gig ram, same GFX card. You'll be fine with a 500, so a 650 should be overkill. Possibly able to run a 200 series.

I've been told its about the amps on the rails, the watts don't matter.

Re: Will this work?
well you can get one from the other so they are just as important, but yes you need to see the specific amperages on each rail to make sure you have enough. The wattage is just overall for all rails combined typically.

So will it run a 8800 GTS? All I want is a straight answer.

Yes, that PSU has dual 12V rails. It should be fine.
That PSU only has one 4P connector, a lot of new the cards are requiring two. Just a thought, if you plan on updating further down the line. Although, I would think your MB + RAM would be first...

Re: Will this work?
30A on the 12V Is plenty to run a single 8xxx/9xxx series card.
