It depends on the game and on the resolution you're playing at. At seriously high resolutions, SLI and Crossfire are really beneficial. At lower resolutions, not so much. Personally, I would buy a single top of the line video card with loads of VRAM before I bought two lesser cards.

Fiddle...did you read Bamboo's guide on upgrading for ARMA 2...It really can be applied to any gaming machine.
