Re: Upgrading possibilities for arma2
The Phenom II stuff works fine with AM2+ and AM3 boards. You lose so much performance on an AM2 board that it isn't worth upgrading. If you're going for a new gaming build and are not going to spend the money for an I7 setup, Phenom II is the way to go.

Re: Upgrading possibilities for arma2
How about posting up those new benchies with the ARMA 2 Mark mission?...I did my new build then tried the benchmark...I went from an AMD 4800+ dual core with a 8800 GT to a Intel q9550 (@3.5ghz) . I kind of wish I had gotten ARMA 2 before the new build to compare what kind of boost the quad core provided.
Along with the new intel chip I've got some nice Corsair XMS2 Ram ( 2 X 2 GB-rated @ 1066 running at 800) and an EVGA GTX 280 vid card. I still see dips in fps down into the low twenties at times but for the most part I'm running a consistent 30-60 fps in most ARMA 2 Missions. I think my benchies from the ARMA 2 mark mission came in at around 4500-4800 with most settings on normal and a 1024 X 1068 resolution. This system does nicely with ARMA 2 and simply rips through all the other titles I dabble in.
I'm curious to know how you make out jumping up to the quad core cpu. Cheers.|TG-1st|Grunt
