Really think most new builds should hold off and see how these turn out before going with a q9550 or i7 920.
Also, to all the regular forum junkies here, sorry I haven't been around much to help out lately. I the middle of a crazzzzzzzzzy move, and am actually crashing in an apt. on the floor for about a month till a home loan goes through. Am leaching off a neighbor's Wi-fi at the moment.

Would it be worth to wait for these new i5 Processors if the build is <$1,000? Just curious....

Yes turkish, you should wait. It might take a few weeks for the price to come down after the first rush, but it will be worth it.
