Re: Gaming Mouse
well my mouse was a refurbished mouse that I got off of woot.com for $25 instead of the $40 that they are charging, I'm also quite heavy handed and apply a lot of force when I click (this is also true of my hand writing) so I'm sure its a bit extra wear and tear on my part

Re: Gaming Mouse
I am also thinking of getting a new wired mouse. My MX518 has started showing signs of age (abruptly dying it in midde of usage and one of my DPI change buttons doesn't work anymore).

Re: Gaming Mouse
I've had the X8 for about a month now. It is fairly good, but a lot of programs don't recognize all of the programing buttons (TS for instance).
It also does not play nice with cloth mouse pads.
Other than those issue, it is a great wireless mouse with a well design charging system.

Re: Gaming Mouse
I was wondering how is the G5? Is there a difference in lazer vs optical?

Re: Gaming Mouse
The G5 was pretty big when it came out and is still a solid mouse that is pretty good quality. The whole laser v optical in my opinion is talked about way too much. Either gets the job done well enough if the build quality is good and the manufacturer is trustworthy (Logitech/Razer IMO). Only thing about Razer is there's been quite a few horror stories about drivers and firmware and stuff, but not so much with the Deathadder than the other Razer mice which is why I got it.

Re: Gaming Mouse
What about Logitech's new G5 replacement coming out? Would it be beneficial to replace my 1st gen G5?

Re: Gaming Mouse
For any mouse I suggest letting it get to release and reading reviews (both customer and from some sites) to get a better look at build quality and if there are any driver issues because a mouse is something you really don't want to spend a lot of money on, only for it to implode on you, especially if you're current one works fine.

Re: Gaming Mouse
I looked at it a while back before I bought my MX1100. It looked pretty good for a wired mouse, but I couldn't find it for sale anywhere in the U.S. As far as I know, it's only available in the U.K. I also thought it was a pretty pricey corded mouse.
Here's a picture since the last 7 or so people skipped right over...

Here's a UK Review on the Roccat Kone. It's got weights of a G5 but the ergo looks of a MX Rev/1100.Acreo Aeneas

Re: Gaming Mouse
I would've sworn that was an April Fool's joke but it was released Aug 19th, 2009. Jeez, MMOs have been my game genre de jour for over a decade and I look at that mouse and video and just shake my head. No way I'd find that viable.

Re: Gaming Mouse
I love my second gen G5 with about 85-90% weights. The two buttons are great when I remember to use them. (Especially with ArmA so you can have hold breath AND zoom in as two different buttons that are easy to reach instead of mouse2 doing both.)
