    DVR expantion

Im not sure if this is the correct place for this but here goes. I have a Motorola DVR through Suddenlink and the unit has firewire and USB on the back of it. I know western digital sells dvr expander drives. I have a 500GB drive and an enclosure, so my question is would anyone know how hard it would be to make the DVR recognize the drive and be able to start recording to it? I dont know what file system it needs to be formatted in or anything.

    Re: DVR expantion

Most of the DVRs provided by cable companies have the hardware disabled through software/hardware and auto update themselves so are unlikely to be expandable. You should contact Suddenlink to find out if you can add hardware to it first, and if so how to set it up.
Just because everyone does something does not mean that it is right to do.
