ATI's Eyefinity comes out of closet- you will want
This just popped up on Fudzilla, and I'm already drooling. Not sure how I will be able to afford 6 monitors, but

ATI's Eyefinity comes out of closet
and
Samsung to make ATI Eyefinity monitors
and
ATI Eyefinity’s Panoramic Future | Keep Watch
Here is H.A.W.X. on six screens at a 5760x2400 resolution. There is a video link at the link above, and yes, you should stop what you are doing and go watch it now!

Re: ATI's Eyefinity comes out of closet- you will want
It's cool and all but the problem I have is the frame of the monitors. Six of them = lots of frames. It would be cooler to have 6 frameless monitors!

Re: ATI's Eyefinity comes out of closet- you will want
This should prompt screen makers to produce new screens with smaller or no frames. The articles listed a bunch of makers who are on board. Most people don't use multi monitors so makers have no reason to make thin frames. If tons more people started, they would. The vids above are using stock Dell screens.

New article
Cry Engine 3 for PC on Ati Eyefinity in triple full HD
Have to say while watching the video, towards the end you tend to forget the frames are there. If they shrunk the frames a bit more, it really would make it amazing.

Re: ATI's Eyefinity comes out of closet- you will want
I don't want it, I can't afford it, and don't know what I would do on 6 monitors, let alone 3 of them (even then the 3rd one would be misc time wasters while the computer is getting something else done for me).
All of those frames breaking up the picture is bad enough. I'd rather go with a 24" @ 1920 x 1200 for gaming rather than six framed screens that have my eyes going screen to screen.Acreo Aeneas

Re: ATI's Eyefinity comes out of closet- you will want
I have to agree with Acreo and Global. The frames would drive me insane (if i could afford 6 monitors.) I would much rather just have one bigger monitor. Or maybe add a second small monitor so that i could be using msn or something without needing to minimize a game.

Re: ATI's Eyefinity comes out of closet- you will want
I can't see buying this for me, but my boss who does mechanical CAD could probably make great use of those 6 giant displays. Imagine being able to see an entire large 6 foot machined part and its tiny details without zooming and panning.

So uh, who wants to lend me a couple hundred dollars? 4 24" Monitors for $650.
I wish I had a lot more desk space and disposable income...
