    My father still technically has a home run PC business so we still get the Microsoft Action Pack (or whatever it's called as this point). I should get Win 7 Pro through that.
    Got the x64 RC on right now, though.

    I have Vista Ulitimate, but did the pre-order for a couple of Win 7 Professionals given the low price.

    Side note: I have a triple boot with XP Pro, Vista Ult. (64bit) and Win 7 RC1 (64bit) and now spend most of my time on Win 7. Even runs older games like BF2 flawlessly. So I'm really looking forward to the final release next month!

    So is there an upgrade path from Vista Ultimate to W7 Pro? Or must one upgrade to the same product class? I'm using Vista Ultimate and probably won't upgrade for a long time, given the way MS seems to be screwing Ultimate users with a much higher upgrade price.

    Does anyone have that chart handy that explains the differences between the versions? Except for Blonov, how many of you are going to need more than the Home Premium version?

    Also, you don't get Remote Desktop on XP Home. If I want to RDP into another home user's computer, they need to be running at least XP Pro.

    I will most likely get Windows 7 Professional upgrade for my desktop computer that already has Vista Ultimate on it and for my laptop that I am running Windows 7 RC on I will probably get Windows 7 Professional OEM.
    I left Vista on my desktop till Windows 7 was officially released so games and such would still work without issues. I put Windows 7 RC on my laptop when I built it and decided then I was definitely getting Windows 7 cause of the better performance.
    I will most likely not be getting Windows 7 for either computer till income tax time though when I also do some upgrading on both computers. Video card and bigger HDD(my 36Gb Raptor is almost full) for the desktop and maybe a faster processor and for the laptop a faster processor.

    i can get as many copys of windows 7 ultimate as i want, free of charge, through the MSDNAA alliance my college has with Microsoft (and other companys). This is only offered for I.T. students tho...

    microsoft is offering win 7 premium for $30 for students tho, saw that in my email a few days ago...
