I'd grab ultimate if I could find it discounted somewhere. Pre-ordered pro back in the summer through Newegg, and thinking about getting the home from the student deal for the family PC.

I got pro because of the cheap pre-order. I doubt I'd need anything more than what it offers. Is it lame that I'm excited to get a new OS?

I already have ultimate and home (and pro also).
I have MSDN subscription so I have access to all.

It may be the Jump from XP here at work..not sure ..I do have a MSDN sub and have Ultimate sitting here burned ready to go.. but not Brave enough to pull the trigger..

Didn't have a choice myself, so I'm on Pro.

I'm not going to be buying W7 unless I get a completely new build. W7 imho is just a renamed vista with some improvements but aren't worth paying for if you've already got vista. My 2 cents.

Ultimate is pointless. Just installs a little more junk...Pro is best. Cuz you can still use compat mode.

El cheapo pre-order premium. I might upgrade should I decide to run a domain on my home lan, switch to Mandarin, or scrap my current w7 compatible image backup solution
