more ram never hurts, but if your not having issues with running out of RAM then I would say youll get more of an fps increase with a video card upgrade.

THe video card would definitely be the first upgrade I'd do to that computer. You'll probably need a beefier power supply though.

I would agree with buckets, Im running a 550 with multiple drives and a radeon 4870 with no issues. So upgrade to at least that.

I'd wait to upgrade your gfx though. Nvidia is looking to push a new line to market in November. They should be price pointed to compete with ATi's new cards so even if they aren't the great leap everyone says they are, you'll still get a good upgrade for a good price.

I have the same card BTW, and I'm waiting.

His 9800GT is fine as is. I can run OFPDR with my 512 MB 8800GT just fine and it still looks great.

You guys are right. The card is fine. however, if he was looking to upgrade anything in that machine, the video card would be the first thing I'd replace. (aside from the PSU of course.)

Well with the way things are going, I'd upgrade RAM first and foremost before the video card. It seems with the cheap prices and higher capacities available, games are becoming less tight about their memory management.
