Fraps 3 released

I received this message in my email:

Quote:
-------------------------
FRAPS 3.0.0 RELEASE NOTES
-------------------------

New features and a new look! Fraps is now compatible with Windows 7 and the latest DirectX 11 games.

Ventrilo & TeamSpeak users have long wanted a way to record their microphone and speakers at the same time. For Windows 7 and Vista we've added realtime sound mixing to our video recording so you can now capture both sides of the conversation!

NVIDIA have recently included stereoscopic 3D support directly into their drivers. If you play your DirectX9 (D3D9) game with 3D Vision enabled you can use Fraps to record the game in full 3D too! You'll get a side-by-side stereo AVI recording that you can drop straight in to a stereoscopic 3D player!

Finally, we are aware that more and more people are putting Fraps to professional use. We've added a new option to force lossless RGB compression to ensure that you always have the highest quality video output to work with.

Thanks again for your support. We hope that you enjoy Fraps 3!

---------
CHANGELOG
---------

- DirectX 11 support
- Compatible with Windows 7 final (RTM) and RC1 versions
- Stereoscopic 3D Vision video capture up to 1920x1200 for D3D9 games
- Force lossless RGB option to always capture video in pure form
- Ability to mix both game sound and external input such as microphone (Vista/Win7 only)

Re: Fraps 3 released

AWESOME!

Thanks Global for posting. I got fed up trying to make videos with Vista because even after days of searching I couldn't find a way to record in-game stuff and Teamspeak due to the DRM crap in Vista. If 3.0 finally fixes that, I will be buying as soon as I get my new Win7 install going.

Maybe we should revisit the idea we talked about here: FRAPS hookup for Tactical Gamer

OOMMG!!!

All I wanted was "Mic & Card at same tiimee" wheee!!! If that works, Ima actually BUY this one!!

It did not work with the Xfi Extreme gamer but now we will see.

EDIT: Nope, does not work...

BF2 Audio Settings on Hardware/High - works nice, but I can not use the CMSS3D of X-Fi and can not hear whats behind me with my stereo headphones.

Settings on X-Fi/Ultra High - does not work, only picks up Mic but I can use CMSS3d since BF2 delivers 5.1 audio which can be used for surround simulation.

Settings X-Fi/Ultra High with the "What u hear" as standart recording device - records game sound but no mic, if I enable the MIC so I canhear myself the game picks up game noise when I use voip... So that also sucks!

GODDAAAMNN!!!

I'm about to try with 2142 and see

On a similar note 3.0.1 is out fixing a few bugs in the initial release
