Through the Looking Glass -- 8 Widescreen Monitors Reviewed

Maximum PC just posted this review, but what I really like is the first couple of pages where they go through each spec and explain what it means and what you should look for, like color depth, Contrast Ratio, etc.

Just remember when you get to the actual monitors, the reviews aren't on the page. You have to click the name of the monitor you want to see a review for to see the info.

Also remember a lot of these "Full HD" monitors have a 1080p resolution, so 1920x1080. They are priced pretty cheap, but you might want to look at the slightly more costly screens that run a 1920 x 1200 resolution.

Nice post. I don't like how they didn't include any reviews from my favorite bargain basement flat panel maker Hanns G.

Eh, my 22in will last me till I get a new video card inside.

Wow, just a couple of mins after I posted this thread, Engadget posted this:
Samsung SyncMaster P2770HD has built-in TV tuner, sex appeal

    Very drool worthy.

So in all, the Samsung is still the only one of the eight worth a second look. 3 of the 8 are truly craptastic in terms of color reproduction and accuracy.

    Pretty cool.
Gonna get this and maybe another HDD for myself this year. I really like black level and from the picture it's not a massive glare window.

Huh, seems that the 27" model has the same resolution that the 24" does.

Here is a roundup of most of the Samsung monitors out right now. I had no idea they had this many different models and it seem a bit overkill.
The review is very deep, but I can't believe they didn't look at any with a higher rez than 1080p
