Re: New Smartphone Decision.........
So my mom just got the Samsung Galaxy S from Sprint. Holy moly. That phone's incredible. I was blown away at how apps on the Android market almost are almost instantaneously downloaded and installed. It seems almost like an EVO, but with a slide out keyboard, a front facing camera, but no HDMI out that I could see. If I was with Sprint, I'd be all over this phone. Blows the crap out of my T-Mobile MyTouch. Love my phone (because of Android), but God it seems so slow in comparison to the Galaxy S. This reviewer gives it a HUGE thumbs up!

Re: New Smartphone Decision.........
Warmonger: the vibrant is the TMO version of the Galaxy S. Sprint's is the Epic, and the other two models for ATT/Verizon are the Captivate and Fascinate. All the same phone pretty much (with the exception that the Epic is the only one with the FFC). As far as HDMI out, I dont believe there is one. However, in a neat little trick, you can do video out through the headset plug with a cheap adapter cord that samsung sells through their website for like 22 bucks.

Re: New Smartphone Decision.........
Yeah, I wish sprint was not such a ripoff on their plans, their epic is very nice, with the flash, front facing camera, and physical slide-out keyboard. Not sure why the Captivate and Vibrant are lacking these features.

Re: New Smartphone Decision.........
To each their own... I, for one, am not missing the keyboard at all.

09-03-2010, 09:53 AM #126I don't understand this comment. After shopping around and looking at the various plans including data, text and discounts... Sprint seems the most reasonable. How are they a ripoff in your view?I wish sprint was not such a ripoff on their plans

Re: New Smartphone Decision.........
Well, I was browsing the plans, and Sprints is $69.99 for 450 plan, VS AT&T's $39.99. That's where I saw the difference, unless Sprint includes the data plan in that. I don't plan to use the phone to talk, unless it's on the weekends, so I was trying to find the cheapest minute plan I could. I'm not to happy about AT&T dropping their "unlimited" plan, which was technically 5GB.

That Sprint plan probably included unlimited data and text. Plus, you can get a 25% discount on it. $70 - 25% = $52.50.
The Sprint 450 minute plan is $39.99.

Re: New Smartphone Decision.........
Ah okay then. I wasn't sure how good their coverage was here. ATT is almost flawless with their 3G and signal coverage, plus I'm use to them. I ordered my Captivate yesterday, should be here Weds.

With Sprint you roam in Verizon Wireless when there is no Sprint coverage. I have been very happy with my Sprint coverage, much better than AT&T here.

Re: New Smartphone Decision.........
I keep seeing this

It looks like the Vibrant, but the middle button is not on the other phones, and I'm just seeing this one called "Galaxy S" and the other four phones are in the "Galaxy S Series". I'm confused.|TG-12th|Undead
