Discussion: General Forums / Hardware & Software Discussion - Problem with PAL and NTSC dvd's - So my brother is deployed to Afghanistan and bought some DVD's there but he doesn't
So my brother is deployed to Afghanistan and bought some DVD's there but he doesn't know anything about the PAL and NTSC coding on dvd's. Anyways, he popped in a PAL dvd and now he can't watch any of his dvd's from here in the states which are NTSC. It appears that when he went to play a PAL dvd it changed the encryption on his computer so when he puts in a NTSC it kicks the dvd back out and tells him to insert a disc into his E drive.
Does anyone know of this or can anyone make any sense of this? I talked to some guys at work who said you can get a converter or something that lets you play both types but I couldn't find anything on this type of stuff as I really don't know what to search for.
HELP PLEASE!!!!!
FORMER 22ND RRR/FORMER 1ST JTOC/ ALWAYS A TACTICALGAMER
Uh...sounds a virus or perhaps a optical drive firmware issue (maybe it's corrupted) If it's a computer, he shouldn't have any problems playing region-coded DVDs.
