    corsair h100 issue

I just bought a corsair h100 to replace my very loud thermaltake frio OCK. I am having an issue getting it to work. It has a 2 pin male molex power connector on it which I have plugged into a 4 pin female molex connector directly to the psu. I have installed it correctly as far as I can tell and the unit lights up with the fan control lights but it doesn't make any sound as far as I can tell. I powered on my computer to test it and the CPU was sitting at 90c so I quickly hit the power switch. Any suggestions?

    Nice!
I've been considering a h100 to go with my next upgrade when Ivy Bridge hits. I'm trying to figure out if it will fit in my case.
There have been a lot of reviews out about the H series lately, like this one from Anandtech:

If your case can fit 2 x 120m fans on top then it should fit. My radiator is only
Being held in with 2 screws, one on each diagonal so as to not damage the fins because the screws are longer than the holes for them and there are 2 corners without fins in the way. Also I could not mount the rad directly in the same spots as where the 2 x120mm fans would normally sit because my MOBO was getting in the way. Luckily my Tt chaser Mk1 case has other holes that are usable for mounting points. I will take some pics of the mounting points with my 240mm fan removed so you get an idea of the size needed.

I am looking into getting a H100 I just need to be sure that the clearance needed for the radiator is 40mm, the fans are 25 mm and the corsair website said that a clearance of 15mm was needed for the radiator, can one of you awesome folks confirm the units thickness?

    Radiator+fans= ?

    Thanks.

the h80 is about 98% of the cooling efficiency for 70% of the price and 50% of the needed space. You can mount it on the back wall of a standard case with both fans and the radiator inside the case without interfering with most motherboards.

I do believe that Thermaltake Frio is annoying that making a huge nosie while loading. However, gotta admit that it is powerful, even better than h100 i think.

I've got the H100 and I'm extremely pleased with it. I've read reviews and the H80 seems to be more of the 'go to' CPU cooler since it's radiator is half as long as the H100, but twice as thick so it has about the same cooling area as an H100.

H80 is great for smaller cases and configurations that don't allow larger push/pull configurations. If you have a full tower with a large top and easy mounting for top fans you can get more out of the h100. Also just as a note corsair instructions mount the radiator with the hoses running back over the unit however I have mounted the unit as such that the tubes go the opposite direction. I think this looks more aesthetically pleasing and does not block any of the rear fans or chipset heat sinks.

Nice. I'm happy with my build. I originally had a Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD5 mobo with an AMD FX-8150 plugged into it, but the mobo died and the CPU was disappointing. I think I'll be sticking to an Intel CPU/AMD GPU combo from now on.
