My old logitech usb headset stopped working (for no reason that i can see why, it just doesn't recognize it anymore) so i figured i'd pick up a new one because it is a few years old. I purchased the logitech H390, which is the current model of what i previously had. I plugged it in and the sound seems to work just great, but when it comes to the microphone windows seems to be running the output through the input. To test this, i played a mp3 and then ran my mic ingame, and everyone could hear the mp3 playing. After a bit of searching, it looked like there was a "stereo mix" issue but I can't seem to find this with windows 7 and I think these results were in regards to XP. Has anyone encountered this before? My previous headset had no such issue.
Yes, the microphone under the recording tab is enable and has the green check. the level bars next to it are moving but in relation to the sound output, not input. the same way the levels are on the playback tab.
Ah, just figured out that "what you hear" is also known as stereo mix, which i didnt even have till i installed different sound drivers last night to see if it would help any. stereo mix is not selected and disabled.
Make sure the mic is set as default communication device as well. You could try plugging the headset into another computer to make sure they work. You never know...
