If your computer suddenly just shuts down, when idle, or in use and it does not generate a BSOD, DR Watson, Freeze up, or leave any thing in the Event Log (right click My Computer, Select Manage and look at the System Event Log)...if it mysteriously shuts down...suspect:
1) Excess Heat 2) A bad power supply 3) Damaged motherboard (have you taken a power hit recently? it really shortens the motherboards life--something called heat stress can slowly cause short circuits on the pcb) Also agree with DdogG a flaky driver can cause problems, but you might get a hint in the system Event log or in device manager if the driver is causing problems |
