The 3.9's are much stricter with the way AA is done. Apparently, RvS had bad programming for the AA and it gets disabled if you get shot or turn on NV. If you can handle that, go with the 3.9's.

I think it's best to do your own benchmarks with each driver set. I believe that each set will perform differently with each system. Some love using Omega or DNA drivers and others stick solely to ATI that's why it's best to try it out for yourself.

I have a 128 MB Sapphire 9700 and I also use the ati 3.7's for stability reasons. I had serious stability problems until I turned off fast-writes (I think that was the term... or maybe it was double writes? In any case it was something that wasn't supposed to really hurt performance much at all.)

I go to the Add/Remove Programs in the Control Panel and uninstall the ATI control panel then the drivers, rebooting after uninstalling both. The newer drivers are supposed to have some kind of uninstall feature but I've never tried it.

Best ATI drivers? 3.7 hands down. Especially for me, where every attempt to update my drivers has resulted in an unstable system.

the uninstaller also uninstalls everything ATI. So if you have any ATI demos on there be prepeared to lose them
