I guess it really depends what you're using the media for. If you need to archive something, don't use the cheapest media you find. If it's just to quickly burn something and watch on the player, cheap media could work.
I haven't burned many DVD's. All I've used is Optodisc 4X that came free when I bought my burner. I think DVD burning is a little more sensitive since it's more data packed in the same space as a CD. So a little error in manufacturing or burning will result in a bad burn. Although, I've heard people using really crappy media and having no problems. Keep us updated on that Memorex media. I'd like to see how well it burns at 16X. I haven't really seen 16X around and I think it can be finicky at that speed. |
