Re: Memory Recommendations

Yeah 2 1 GB stickts for $239 is not a bad price at all. I read some reviews up on it and it seems to be pretty good if your not looking to spend like $200 a stick.

Marco, I do lots of video editing for my site and I also try to record using FRAPS while playing. So, I need as much memory as I can get. My mobo tops off at 3 GB i know for sure.

I have never heard of Patriot, is it a decent brand?
Patriot is a very good brand, and it's performance is better than the well known brands you hear about all the time (Mushkin, Crucial, etc.). You absolutely cannot beat it for the money. I have been extremely pleased with mine, I can tell you that.

Monarchcomputer is also a very good online dealer to deal with, never had an issue with them. I order from them or newegg pretty much exclusively when it comes to hardware.

When in doubt, always check out resellerratings.com. Here's Monarch's ratings:

And newegg:

You certainly won't regret the Patriot memory.

Pay very close attention to Spyder's advice. You can get a 450W PSU for $20, but trust me, you don't want one. NEVER, EVER, go cheap on a PSU. You don't need to spend $200 on one, but you definitely need a good quality well known brand PSU.

for around $75 dollars you can buy a quality Antec 430W or 480W in Either ATX or ATX2 from newegg. Well worth the price. I also buy my hardware pretty much exclusively from newegg. Their prices tend to be lower, the shipper is cheaper (and it gets from CA or NJ to MN in 2 days with fedex *saver* shipping if you order early enough) and their tech support is awesome. RMA'ing defective products is a breeze.

Re: Memory Recommendations

yeah I'll probably get the Antec Arctic Blue next month. Already spend $500 on upgrades this month heh. I think that will be enough.
