Personally I use dslreport....but its very inaccurate due to lots of other factors...all speed tests are. It depends on how many hops it makes before your location so you may score low, but the comcast servers may be overly busy, or you're going through 20 other domains. To get a more accurate speed, try several different sites at different times of the day and night and average them.

Right, but that's why www.dslreports.com has several different hosts for their speed test. Try them all and the fastest one is going to be the closest to your actual speed. They'll combine to give you an accurate description of what your speed is in practical terms, too.

See if your ISP has a speed test on their support page. Their servers tend to be closest to you in 'net terms, and thus less affected by Internet conditions.
